Each Wednesday (most likely not) a non-existing team that has been known in the AFL world as a proposition or a former team will be brought to life!

Each comp will run for 1 week or so and the poll will run for 1 week or more if needed.
The winner picks the next team in the list below
There are 3 routes you can go by if you're stuck
  • The chosen team has entered the competition in 2017 along with the current 18 OR
  • Design kits as if they've been in the competition all along OR
  • Go back in time when the team entered the competition or when a merger would've happened (if applicable)
eg. Design kits in 1991 when Adelaide entered the competition as the Crows
Design kits in 1997 when the newly formed Melbourne Hawks would play their first season

Your job is to produce a:
  • Home kit
  • Away kit (Home with white shorts is acceptable)
  • OPTIONAL 3rd
    • Clash kit
    • Heritage kit
    • Other kit
  • Club Logo (OPTIONAL BUT ENCOURAGED)

This week we ask....

NEW RULES 23/6/15 (Read Carefully):
  1. Kits and Logo must be in 1 picture (Makes polls easier to fit everything in)
  2. The kits can consist of just a Jumper (Shorts and socks are encouraged to give a full identity effect)
  3. Minimum 2 kits and there's no limit to how many kits you can include after that
eg. Home and Away and/or Clash and/or Heritage and/or Others
  4. Maximum 2 entries per person
  5. For the former teams I'll allow the use of the last jumper design the club used only once(Opens the door for that modern creativity)
  6. For the proposed teams Directly copying a kit (Colours and design) of any team is disallowed
  7. For the mergers, no restrictions. You can take any elements from the clubs involved in the merger and create whatever you please as long as you don't copy any proposed designs that have been brought up already
  8. Proposed and Former teams - Do not use logos or jumper artwork that is being used or has been used by the club before (exception in Rule 5 for former teams)
  9. Any team - Creating a logo from scratch is encouraged but you may take inspiration from and/or alter any sports logo to drive home your design.
  10. Any proposed designs that have been brought up for the current team will not be allowed for use
  11. Proposed Teams - You may use any colours you like even if it is being used by the team as long as it doesn't replicate any past/present designs the team has

Any other questions will be answered

Can I submit a written entry? If so, a panther and a tiger combantant on a field of black fading into navy blue, like the night sky. Yellow detailing.
If it's accompanied by your famous hand drawn kits, it's a deal

It's gonna be a nightmare trying to make this jumper not clash with both Carlton and Richmond

In an ideal world they would of been yellow with the panthers SA in Navy.
Due to the world not being ideal and it being around the 80's - 90's I'd say they would of gone with a navy Guernsey, a yellow sash and SA where jeep is on the Richmond sash, white numbers with a yellow outline.

it'd be way too close to richmond's. like port adelaide, they'd have been required to change the design and/or the colours to make a truely unique team.

Richmond wouldn't have been so anal as Eddie.

Unsurprisingly, very Claremont-y this one. After long discussions between the newly formed club and Richmond and Carlton, yellow was decided to be the primary colour rather than navy so as to not upset anybody.

I really like this. The shade of yellow and overall colour mix might annoy GWS however

I'm going for a merger happening from season 2018.

The South Adelaide-Glenegl Football Club As none of the designs or colour schemes that Glenelg and SA use can be taken directly to the AFL, changes needed to be made. Glenelg's Tiger could not be used either, and, with Glenelg feeling the team would be more Sth Adelaide than a merged identity, convinced the board to change the mascot completely, to one that identifies more to the beach side town of Glenelg, that of the Shark. Sth Adelaide agreed, on the proviso that the team could keep South Adelaide in the team name. While initially in agreement, once the team colours were announced to be predominantly blue, Glenelg only agreed to the South part of the name, and wanted the sash to remain on the guernsey.

So the Southern Sharks were born (i havent had a chance to make a logo).

After many months of negotiating on colours and designs, the following kits were agreed to.
The main colours of both teams were kept, and the teams colours were declared to be Blue (SA) and Black (Glenelg). The blue was changed from Navy to Royal to avoid the kit being too dark. The sash is black, and runs the opposite direction to Richmond and Essendon.

The away kit is a standard white background with a blue and black vertical stripe signifying the unity of the two teams away from home.

I've gone for a bit of mix of the two with consideration of clashing with Carlton/Richmond.
Retaining Panthers name as it's unique in the AFL, yellow sash with light blue evoking a bit of a beach motif + referencing the tiger's sash to keep the Glenelg faithful happy, sash tapering to give it a slight point of difference to Rich/Ess.
Away would just be the home kit with white shorts, clash kit is your bog-standard cartoon logo on white.

like your designs, but yellow panther though? "The GSA Cougars" perhaps. Also, Sturt supporters incensed (which is OK;))

Southern (both teams are south of the city) Rays (rhymes with Bays, not my logo btw) Navy from SA, Yellow from Glenelg and Teal because 'the 90's'. Jumper design comes from the V design on an old Glenelg patch I came across whilst moving this weekend.
