"The Scenario - After many years under TAA branding, times were changing. With the winding down of the once mighty airline, soon to be absorbed within Qantas, a drastic re-brand of the football club was needed to attract new supporters in a stagnant time for struggling Victorian teams, and the game itself was changing to a new professional era in the AFL. Starting in 1990 TAA would be officially renamed the "Northern Boomers" acquiring the Australian Airlines livery colours as part of the re-brand. A brave new future awaits the Boomers in the AFL, will it be BOOM or BUST?"
