What is "3"?

Might be a dumb question, but what/who is the "3" sponsor?

Its a very ordinary logo. I actually thought it was that new promo that telstra are doing... their ad has a 3 in it.

Typical telstra ambush marketing.

Nah, Orange and 3 are both a part of Hutchinson Telecoms.
Agree that it looks ****house though. Can't believe they actually have mulitple logos that we will be wearing throughout the season.

I don't particularly like the "3" logo itself, but I like the small cosmetic changes made to the guernsey this year. I didn't like how the Orange logos on the front broke up the sash.

Yeah, I bought one of those generic ones too, which cost about half what the official ones are.

I also have a long-sleeved official one that I bought from the club, but it isn't very comfortable. I also got the #10 put on it, as a tribute to John Coleman, but everybody thought I liked Mark McVeigh instead. So there's a lot of reasons not to wear it.

I may get one of those "three" ones eventually, maybe at the end of the year when they try to get rid of them or something.

Can you get an old cloth one anywhere? I'm not particularly fond of the spandex materials they use these days.

How come there haven't been any advertisements on T.V. for this brand?

Don't they want to promote their product?

Not that the sponser's logo matter's that much, but it would look a lot better without it on the front of the guernsey.
I don't see what's so bad about "3" though

the spsonsers website is www.three.com.au and from what the first page on their site says, they are global, and they have games...

Also, orange and three are both owned by that hutchison co. so we are not really changing sponsers, just names... maybe its a way that essendon could change their guernsey, at the same time as hutchison getting two of their brands abit of sponsership advertising...

I wanted to buy one a while back and when I saw them I was absoluately disgusted by them! So I decided to by a Bomber T'shirt instead.

I saw a news story on the "3" company the other day

From what I gathered, "3" is a new marketing ploy from Hutchinson Telecom who own Orange (which we all knew), and its a new brand of mobile phone which has the ability to get video images - such as movie trailers, advertisements, and sporting highlights - which I think is why they are putting their sponsorship into the AFL, and in particular Essendon. It also has things like a digital camera and picture messaging, which is all becoming pretty standard these days.

The killer was that the new phones would cost about $1500-$2000 Australian

They said that Australia will be getting this type of technology ahead of most of Europe and America, so we should feel some sort of achievement there
