3 things.

He’s worth a top 10 pick alllll day.

He’s no longer a salary dump, they want to keep him and he’s been offered a contract.

Who else would pay 100% of his salary if we don’t?

They're trying to rebalance their list so it could depend on what else happens. Grundy doesn't want to go and they need a ruckman. Soldo would relatively sort it and could have them contending next year. Maybe soldo and a pick from us?

Why do they need a ruckman with Preuss, Flynn and Briggs?

That could involve some posturing. They will be pleased for all the cap space they can create so they won’t be totally unwilling to release Taranto. If they release Taranto it also probably gives them a bit more bargaining power in the Hopper, Bruhn and Hill deals. They could also have their eye on one of our players, so that could be a factor if they are posturing a bit.

He is going to be worth roughly the value of pick 8 I think. So where ever this year’s ends up or an agreed expected value on our 2023 first rounder and add either North’s 2022 second, our 2022 second or our 2023 second and if that adds up to more than the value of pick 8 then likely something comes back our way. Picks slide as well, but unless players are involved I would expect one of our first rounders and one of our second rounders to go the GWS for Taranto.

If a player is involved, then who? We have heard suggestions of RCD. Soldo seems unlikely to me. For some reason I keep wondering about young Tom Brown but this is based on nothing substantial.

I’ve never been impressed by his skill or composure. Think we can do better honestly
all that matters is can he benefit the richmond gameplan

I think he can

Reckon future first given that GWS will want to shift picks to next year's draft.

Richmond future first + 2nd rounder for Taranto.

If GWS was interested in a player such as Stack, Soldo then it could be Taranto for a future first and a player with a swap of later picks to balance.
