I think he is considered such, because he did not impose vaccine mandates (though did impose some travel restrictions) and seen by the cookers to be supportive of cooker ideology

Immigration ban, mandatory detention of people, tariffs, seeking to overthrow a democracy etc dont sound very libertarian to me.

Putting his actual lawmaking aside, his biggest impacts include fanning the culture wars in the USA, emboldening white supremacists, dragging the entire Republican party into the far right wing/ kooky conspiracy theory realm, totally eradicating public accountability for elected representatives, and destabilizing the American Republic.

Not the greatest legacy to have.

He made a lot of money though, so he's happy.

Aah we aren't talking so much about actual libertarianism so much as the type that the cookers like
Ie "* the democracy, because it is controlled by the libtards who aren't REAL americans"

No, their concern is that Democracies (indeed all countries everywhere) are secretly under the control of 'the evil cabal of Globalists/ WHO/ Banking cabals/ Soros' Capitalists, who are using/ in cahoots with socialist/ left wing political parties and the 'Hollywood/ Media elites' to undermine 'the West' and take control of the world.

They're imposing 'cultural Marxism' on us all to weaken us, and are simultaneously seeking greater control (via the WHO/ UN or whatever) to promote multiculturalism, which will lead to an undermining of 'Western Culture' (the white race). They use Hollywood 'propaganda with a liberal agenda', and 'fake news' to promote the above, and cover their tracks.

Basically the entire world boils down to an existential cultural and race war, with the 'bankers and globalists and Marxists' controlling everything, and 'the West' under an existential threat.

This is the core belief of the far right. They all think it to some degree.

It was the word for word core belief of the Nazis as well. They were just a lot more obvious about who this cabal of 'bankers, financiers, and Hollywood elites' really were (the Jews).

Basically most of the alt-right and far right (including most Palmer supporters) go around parroting the above claims of 'cultural Marxism' and 'globalist control' theories over and over, most of them not realizing what it is they're actually saying (the Jews are trying to take over the world).

They're simply regurgitating word for word, what Hitler thought, and what was the Nazis core justification for existence, what was the central belief of the Nazis, and the justification for everything they did, including the Holocaust.

These guys say it, but just don't realize it.

Then you have the 5-10 percent of that far right cohort who parrot that same conspiracy, knowing exactly what they're doing, and who they're really referring to when they talk about 'the globalists'.

Clive Palmer must answer for UAP antisemitism

Neo-Nazi groups have infiltrated those conspiracy/ freedom/ alt-right/ anti-vaxx spaces (mainly via social media), to spread the above conspiracy. They're aligned to the 'freedom' movement for a reason.

We're now seeing increasingly radicalised young men getting spat out the other side, who have been exposed to the above, and convinced there is some kind of existential 'clash of the cultures' going on, are taking up arms to murder people, or rallying around people like Trump, who dog whistles to that exact cohort, nearly leading to (in the USA) the fall of the US Republic.

What a time to be alive hey?

So obviously the answer is to install dictators who conform to their beliefs, how could that go wrong?

It's not like there is any historical precedent...

The title of this thread and the question, What is the appeal of Clive Palmer? is really easy to explain.

Clive Palmer appeals to morons and conspiracy theorists.

This time around, there were just over half a million of these people in Australia (604,536 Reps), (520,520 Senate).

You know, there are people who believe the stuff you just wrote about but they are adamant that they are NOT, alt-right and far right; they are just "concerned citizens". That's how far these internet/social media hypnotists have weaselled their way into the psyche of some Australians, not to mention world-wide.

The appeal seems to be to spend your own money on a pointless campaign, then complain when what everyone kept telling you comes true.
