Toast What is the best 5 minute burst of individual footy brilliance you have seen?

Melbourne as a collective have perhaps the single most decisive 1 minute burst of footy in football history turning a potential nailbiting 6 point lead into Footscray requiring the biggest 3/4 time comeback in grand final history 24 points. It cannot be understated how much that minute turned the entire complexion of the game.

Individual 5 minute burst? Dew in the 2008 grand final is again, the most important in changing an entire premiership. Made even better because he gave hope to those of us of a rotund persuasion :thumbsu:

Honestly shocked the thread wasn't made by a Hawthorn supporter wanting everyone to say how good Dew was in the 2008 GF.

Also,
Answer: Dew in the 2008 GF.

Little known fact about Hawthorn supporters. They all share a common ancestor from about 500 years ago and this person was unable to see the colour red, and this has passed onto all Hawthorn supporters today. As a result they don't know how to create threads on bigfooty because through pure bad luck the button to create a thread on bigfooty is usually red.

Stephen michael vs the vics soo

Except it wasnt five minutes.

Kranky, they just don’t get it.

We know how good TI was, we saw and savoured it (sometimes between gritted teeth !!!! ). It’s their loss.

By the way, regularly see him around Collie. Pure gentleman, fully approachable. No ego.

Through gritted teeth alright. I hate souths and the munchers the most and he always gave us a masterclass.

Dad why cant he play for us?

Nick Davis 2005 Prelim single handedly pulled it out of the fire for the Swans, the last goal with seconds left. Gave them the flag after 72 year drought

That, or Phil Carmen vs the umpire :)

Apart from Stewart Dew in 08 gf, Wayne Carey round 10 1995. Essendon were winning until the last 5-10 minutes of the game and Carey kicked 2-3 goals including one on the run from outside 50 and one from a contested mark running back with the flight. Bombers fans left the ground in shock that night, was great.
