Tony Martin sung on some rippers too which dont get the respect they deserve. Headless Cross and Tyr are very under rated. He sung the Dio stuff really well live too.

Born Again with Gillan has some cool moments but for the most it's pretty bad.

cross purposes is great...the glenn hughes one seventh star was meant to be an iommi solo album but the record company it'd sell more if they called it sabbath.

actually im disappointed that half the people that recorded for the last iommi solo album got ditched by the record company in favour of more current singers

ive got a bootleg of about 8 songs that hughes did with iommi and theyre better than half the stuff on the actual album.

Yeah, Gillan did a couple of really good songs on that album, but I thought the guitar playing on it was a real mess, which would have been extremely disappointing after Iommi sounded so complete on Heaven and Hell (and to a lesser extent Mob Rules).
"Trashed" was a sensational song, and remains one of my all-time Sabbath faves, but that has to be the worst guitar solo I've ever heard from Iommi.

Tony Martin is a great singer, no doubt about that, but much like when JLT fronted Deep Purple, I reckon the songs were pretty ordinary, or at least not spectacular as in previous years. I have all the Black Sabbath albums, including Cross Purposes Live (released with a video), on which Martin is particularly impressive with older stuff as well as his own.

I love Seventh Star too, especially the title track, and the opener "In For The Kill".
I have the Japanese pressing of the CD, so the sleeve notes are a mystery - is that the album Eric Singer played drums on?

Yeah yeah leaving in a sec - just finishing my coffee. It's just that they take longer to drink when they're pints.

My vote goes to Heaven And Hell,
Ronnie James...what a voice,
"Die Young" (not forgetting the opening track "Neon Knights", along with "Falling Off The Edge Of The World" off the "Mob Rules" album) remains, imho one of the Sabs finest moments, up there with "War Pigs", "Snowblind" , "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and of course.."Paranoid"

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath..the album...is another classic.
Apart from the title track, "Sabbra Cadabra" and "Killing Yourself To Live" are killers.

Dunno much about 'em after "Headless Cross", that bein' the last Sabbath recording i've purchased. However, they still remain one of my (many) all time favorite bands.

where's wally?

My favourite two Sabbath tracks!!! Why I was part of the 12.5% (ie one vote) of the population that voted for SBS as best album.
