I like to use what I think are amusing names for my WiFi connections.

In the past I have used

- Hide Yo Kids Hide Yo Wifi
- Pretty Fly For a Wifi
- VicPol Surveillance Van 07

I am currently using "It Hurts When IP".

Do any of you guys use amusing SSIDs?

Someone living near me uses "It Hurts When IP" as my laptop occasionally picks it up.

I don't have one but if I did I'd probably choose Wifi Way as a tribute to that great You Am I album Hifi Way.

A neighbour has mine has called their network 'free WiFi'.

Except it's not free or unencrypted! It's a ruse.

I remember randomly coming across one once, when walking down a street in Hawthorn, called 'ASIO Surveillance Van'. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's done a quick double take upon seeing that.

Quite a common thing that people do to try steal credentials is set up open WiFi on public transports and name it "[city"] public transport free wifi" or something to that effect... I think it was surprisingly effective back in the early days of tethered hot spots.

The London style taxis they have brought out recently in Perth have their own wifi, I sometimes see London Taxi wifi pop up on my laptop.
