Autopsy What just happened? A draw???

I read a similar summary last year......and the year before and again the year before that. How many years of the same shiite do we take before we realize that the the side has been dismantled to become a motley crew? The top sides have one, maybe two average players. The past few years we have had 3, maybe 4 average players. This year we have at least 9 players that wouldn't get a game in the top 8 teams. This is what has to change IMO

And we get an untried coach in and we finish out of the 8, what would your reaction be then?

I think now Bucks is getting a decent side together, with Daicos, Brown, Kirby and McClarty waiting in the wings.
If we can get a KP player in the trade period and draft smartly, l think we will play finals next year, with Buckley as coach.

Missed your GameDay contributions today. No doubt they would've been good reading. Bet you were spitting four n twenty over everyone in that second half.

I was going off at end. Both at Scumps and our Pathetic Finish

And Reid was in the PERFECT position to impact that final contest. Coasting in with a clear rum from the side, just crash the pack with a strong fist and kill it.

Yet he ran under the ball and didn't even get a hand on the ball. Poor defense, and no surprise he has been moved up forward.

Needed to go for Punch and not a bloody mark

As far as mathematics go, is this now season over for us? I can't imagine we'd be able to play finals on 11.5 wins. Not that we'll go undefeated from hereon...

Here you go.
1 Crows 13.5 (Port, Dons, Swans, WCE)
2. Geelong 12.5 (Swans, Richmond, Pies, GWS)
3. GWS 11/2 (effectively 12) (Dees, Dogs, Eagles, Cats)
4 Richmond 12 (Hawks, Cats, Freo, Saints)

5 Port 11 wins (Crows, Pies, Dogs, Suns)
6 Swans 10 (Geelong, Freo, Crows, Blues)
7 Dees 10 (GWS, Saints, Lions, Pies)
8 Eagles 10(Saints, Blues, GWS, Crows)
9 Dogs 10 (Lions, GWS, Port, Hawks)
10 Dons 9 (Blues, Crows, Suns, Freo)
11 Saints 9 (Eagles, Dees, Roos, Tigers)
12 Hawks (8.5) (Richmond, North, Blues, Dogs)

13 Pies 7.5 (North, Port, Geelong, Dees)

Anythings possible I suppose. IMO of that lot although the swans can't afford a slip the Dees look shaky especially if they drop GWS next week. Dogs thou get over the Lions and will back themselves to get on a roll. Who knows what Eagles show up next week? Even Essendon will back themselves to win 3 but you don't know which one will show up. So I see them dropping Crows and one of Blues or Suns.

In Pies case that assumes they win all 4.

IMO I reckon Dees and Swans just hold on Eagles drop out for the Dogs.

Edited for top 4. Looking at the draw all of a sudden that draw is important for Adelaide as their hold on top 2 is tenuous. Wouldn't necessarily back GWS in any of the 4 (thou they will probs jag 2 and rely on Port dropping a couple). I reckon Geelong and Richmond in the box seat and could go 1 and 2.

At a guess I'll go: Crows, Cats, Tiges, GWS, Port, Swans, Dees, Dogs.

People are saying Treloar down hill skier. 12 tackles to go with his 30 odd touches might indicate otherwise.

15 sec left with ball in our hands, ball travels a total of around 80 meteres back and forth and we don't get a finger on it at any stage.

Almost one the biggest comebacks of all time, I hope the first thing the new coach does is get rid of all the blokes who can't kick and run one way.

Ohhhhh anyone who knocked Adams needs to STFU and watch today he is an absolute bull, tries all game, runs both ways, Adams should be captain from next year, Collingwood needs a strong captain who leads by example and bleeds black and white.

This is just false.

Put the replay on and freeze the vision from when Langdon kicks the ball.

There are six Pies to five Crows just outside the 50m arc where the ball was kicked.

We had Moore, Wells, DeGoey, Treloar, and Blair who could have contested and Sidey next closest.

We had no easy short option as Dunn tried to run in to shepherd the mark. So long to our numbers and Moore was the play everygame.

Keith and Lynch block Moore from getting a good run at it, and Kelly goes up on his own with Wells and DeGoey just watching him.

With 10 seconds left, the correct decision is to kick long where WE had the numbers.

The problem being NONE of the Pies flew, they all waited for Moore and he couldn't get there.

It was poor from DeGoey and Wells to not contest, it wasn't wrong for Lamgdon to kick long to our numbers.

Dunn tries to run.. but can't.
Hopefully he's not there next yr.
If he's there for 'goal square bomb it to the boundary line duties' again next yr.. I'll lose it.

I laughed watching Keith a bloke who played only a couple games out body Reid on multiple occasions, Reid should have dominated.

What the feck is with the Langdon blame fest?

He tackled Jerka, won a holding the ball decision, well played.

Went back and milked the clock until told to go by the umpire, again well played.

Kicked it long to outside 50 on the flank, where Moore was, again the correct safe play.

The fact nobody bothered to actually fly for the kick wasn't Langdon's fault. We had DeGoey, Sidey and Wells waiting for a spillage and Moore coming late with a half hearted spoiling effort. Anyone of those 4 just attack the pill we win.

As Langdon kicked it outside 50 Kelly had to pass it off, Grundy and Reid were both behind the ball and neither could impact the contest.

Laughable that the bloke who actually won the ball back with a holding the ball, and did what was expected is copping the flack when Si many others actually hurt us in the last minute or so

All this is true. I do think he could have kicked it closer to the line. But I thought he was good again today. I don't get the criticism.

I'd give him the captaincy. I don't mind Sidebottom either. Loves responsibility.. all great finals players do. Toss the coin.

2 kicks and 4 handballs in 3 quarters...

Had an ok last quarter with typical mistakes and a few good passages of play.

He kicked 2 goals and got 12 touches. It was an ok performance until that mistake. Small forwards don't always gather possessions consistently. He should go but you're being way to harsh in his performance.

He was barely sighted for 3 quarters...did a few good things in the last and a few poor things. Really typical Blair game.

He should not play again. Time to get games into Kirbinator and hopefully Daicos a game in the last match.
You would think so wouldn't you? We have a few games to blood the young ones. Better to give them their first nervous games while it doesn't matter, instead of losing games next year as a result of blooding new players. You really would think so....but after watching this selection committee all year I would suggest they are still hell bent on saving their jobs and selecting Blair etc? They really do think that if they can salvage a few games they will be there next year. It's like Ground Hog day down at the Jestpac Centre

Look at Toovey though. I'm sure we all at one stage thought to ourselves.. 'what on earth is that'. Where Maynard is getting it wrong is pretty simple.. he needs to stand upright a lot more. Keep your head up son.. survey all of the ground.

Toovey had excellent concentration on his man and shut him out. Not sure Maynard has that.

I've said for a while that I think Reid is cooked as a defender and I doubt he has long left as a forward either.

Yep need to try and get whatever we can for him while his currency is still good.

I would take a pick between 15—25 and run.

The last month Langdon has been putting egg on faces as has Thomas who has come from no-where. Langdon will put a lot of egg on the doubters faces in the coming years IMO. Don't take it to heart too much. We're both Collingwood we both hope for the best don't we? I'm not going to change as that's how I support the Pies, be it at a bbq, at the game with mates, or in a pub, or just with the family. Why should bigfooty be different? If you don't like it then...
Yes, we are definitely both passionate Pies supporters, and just want success for the club.
PEACE.
