I made one comment asking if Blair was playing on Laird.......I thought he was ok today.

I also praised Langdons first half.........but his second half was abysmal.

I was at the game and Langdon (+ all defenders) were told by Tarkyn that we had two minutes to go. He then gets a brilliant holding the ball one minute later and he decides to kick to a hot spot.........wtf?

Sorry that match was a loss to me.......still gutted.

Lucky I am on a plane to Thailand tomorrow for two weeks.........dumb footballers.
Enjoy the warmth.
Hope you get some sun.

It was unprecedented, crows didn't miss a shot for goals after half time ( not counting touched on the line) we hit the post twice. Unlucky hey!!!
Moore could've sealed it with his last shot. Those similar shots the crows couldn't miss.

13-3 in the 2nd half, but most were pretty easy set shots.

I didn't think it looked uncertain a few weeks ago, in fact the rumour after our good run pre bye was that he would be offered 2 year extension.

The club pre bye was doing everything it could to distance itself to Bucks preseason comment re making the finals as the determiner. Ed Pert and even Bucks backed away from those comments giving the club leeway should we show any improvement on last year I think he will remain.

Not sure if it's good or bad fence sitting as I see both sides having valid argument and I myself both have issues with his coaching and at the same time see things that clearly are working leaving me thinking will it turn around next year?

For me it was pretty clear that we would miss finals and Bucks would go a few weeks ago. Now I think the YES case for reappointment is getting stronger which makes many here very very uncomfortable.
I still feel that all thing considered, BUCKS should have done better this year by making finals, because the reasons for poor past seasons dont apply, so I will understand if he is not reappointed

Great game by Langdon. Anyone blaming him for anything other than being one if the major reasons for us being in front with 1 sec to go is limited in their understanding of football.

Blair has conceded a free kick 3 times in the last minute of 3 close games. Match committee come on.

22 points up Fasolo running towards 50 with 3 clear options to ice the game misses a 25m kick. Instead kicks it to Crows player. 3 minutes later they are within a kick.

DeGoey did something similar, 3-4 pies players running into F50 and rather than dish off a handball opts to lob a 20m pass to a 50/50 contest. Adams gave him a serve so hopefully he'll learn from it.

I know more changes are coming.

I know I am ecstatic that Pert is gone.

I know we are in good hands with Eddie and he knows and is putting things in place so he isn't at the Club when he is 80.

I also know Bucks has done exactly what the Club has asked him to do from 2012.

The players love him (so do I) but I still don't think he is a good coach.

Just my irrelevant opinion on a discussion forum.
Eds a fair way off 80 mate. I agree with you in that, as I read things, Bucks will most likely be coach in 2018.

I'm asking what you would do if you were in Eds shoes. In your irrelevant opinion, would you give Bucks an extension? For how long? or if not who would you look at replacing him with?
Fwiw, I would've sacked him last year. This year has me just more convinced of that judgement and I'd throw the bone to Ratten at the end of this year.

Assuming he'll go at the end of the season. Not many people resign and walk out the next day.

Yep, will stay till after the season.

Yep, will stay till after the season.
Are you sure.
I am pretty certain in his presser with Eddie he said that that bloke who is doing the review will be the acting CEO while they look for a new one.
I am also pretty certain he said that he resigned now because he won't be the CEO when the changes recommended by the review take place so he shouldn't be making decisions that will effect the next CEO. Therefore stepping aside immediately. Or something to that effect.

Who cares if they're still learning? We're not ready for a flag tilt anyway. In fact Treloar will be finishing up if we do get to that point with De Goey Moore ect hitting their primes
Flag tilt can come pretty quick, ie Bulldogs.Treloar is a star pretty sure he's playing injured yet still get a massive numbers, tackles. For the life of me can't work out why you and others seem unhappy that he's with us.You do know he came 4th in the brownlow last year with a limited pre season don't you

My utopia doodles is Bucks coaches in 2018.......one last roll of the dice.

The Hawks make finals in 2018 and Clarko is "content" to take on his next coaching challenge at the Pies in 2019.

He played well today.

But he wilted under the pressure, didn't back himself to execute a very simple kick 5 - 10 metres inside the boundary where everyone was expecting it.

Was a pressured kick. Ump had dragged the McGovern back a meter or 2 but still not a lot of room kicking in those situations. Ump had called play on to had another level of pressure.

"Buckley did nothing to stop the momentum". Crows got to within 3 points very early in the last quarter. We then kicked the next 3 goals. Does this not count as stopping the momentum?

And people giving it to Langdon. Seriously? He lays a huge potentially match-winning tackle and wins a free for it and still he cops it. He the kicked it to a contest that the Pies had more players at. Not his fault no-one went up to contest the mark.
Agree with you here on getting to the contest to outmatk or more so, spoil. I would be more livid about Blair's free Against for not disposing of ball to clear the zone, rather than fend off and get caught.

Sounds like sentimental fool's gold to me CFC. I do wish I could believe.. I do... But my brain won't let me.
We need to end it and get it done and move on as a club. Holding out for Clarkson can't be a consideration.. he's not available and may never be.

I remember that passage of play. Almost put my fist through the Tele. But then I thought maybe he hurt his playing with his dog again? This why couldn't fire a handball off.

Treloar was worth every penny we paid for him.
Is playing well despite carrying some niggles at the moment.
Will be a long term super star A grade elite player for us.
Still young.

Needs to fix the kicking and also defensive effort when the ball turns over doesnt run hard back to defend (not talking about his coal face tackles).

Plenty were blaming Langdon in opening few pages hence my post.

You still think he made a poor choice, it is silly especially if you have watched the replay.

Nobody presented in short. Goldsack just points to where he ended up kicking it.

Almost as if the boys thought the tackle won us the game, they stopped.

Can freeze vision when Langdon kicks, He went long to a 6 on 5 contest favouring Collingwood, it was us who had the numbers.

The problem was that DeGoey and Wells assumed Moore would fly for it, when he couldn't get a run at it it resulted in Kelly being the only one going up with DeGoey, Wells and Sidey all standing their looking for a front n square crumb as Kelly takes an easy 'uncontested' mark.

It was the right choice from Langdon.

He could have put it a bit closer to the boundary, but he kicked to a group of Pies, it was the fact that none of them actually went to the ball that was the problem...not whether the ball was 5m closer to the boundary.

I'll watch the replay tomoz and either retract it or not, still think it was far too inboard even if we did contest it there would of been hard to kill the contest being a good 20m off the boundary line. Did he kill the clock enough? could he step back through points etc..

Goldsack went from chocolates to boiled lollies. Was excellent early, made some bad blunders later. Got schooled in a ground ball one on one, punched an uncontested mark away from Langdon...

I thought it was actually that Jenkins lifted and that they cut us up on the rebound after half time rather than the Sack's game dropping off.

True. He does need to work on those things.
But every player no matter how good they are has parts of their game they need to work on.
I am sure even Daicos had some deficiencies in his game. Well maybe not Daicos but most players.
Still doesn't change my belief that he was worth every cent we paid for him.
Also people keep saying 2 first rounders but correct me if I am wrong but wasn't it Treloar plus a second for two first rounders.

The reason why Treloar feels too expensive is because we paid a record price and then gave away so many players for nothing, to teams that haven't done anything right by us.

It was Treloar and a 2nd rounder for 2 x pick 7 and pick 62.

What ever way you spin it we handed over 2 pick 7s.

It was steep. But we can only blame Richmond and Dave Matthews for that as they worked in tandem to make sure we paid top dollar.
Gubby had agreed to an in principal deal that was to be pur first and future 2nd for Treloar.
Richmond kicked up a stink as gws CEO Dave Matthews had done a back room deal to send him to the tigers where his brother works.
This is why KB was adament Treloar was going to Tiggas.
He (Matthews) blocked the trade overuled Gubby and brought in the AFL, the tigers then upped the offer to two first rounders to beat our deal and force our hands to pony up. Their first rounders being higher picks.

Treloars a great player but I really hope he can get some composure with his kicking in future years.
