Retire with his dignity intact (it may already be too late)

Too late for that, I know it's not really his fault but he really does need a team to play for.

A-League would be his best bet to make sure he can still make the socceroos squad as a bench player or something, but I'm not sure if he will come back yet and I can't imagine many English clubs in the top 2 divisions would even look at him. I'm pretty sure Blackburn turned him down at one point in the past year or so.

No Championship team will want him; and if they offer him a pay-as-you-go salary, he won't want to take it. His ego is too big to just slink off, but he's left it to late to leave on a good note (at Gala or Victory).

Should go to Western Sydney for $80,000 a year and an FFA role.

his name is harry kewell thats why

why would anyone want him knowing his history

how can he not find a club? seriously, i know he's way past his best but he would still be a handy player. maybe he's demanding too much money?

He wants to play in England due to "family reasons" but it hasn't dawned on him that he's not good enough to play First division anymore let alone in the Championship.

In Australia, He wants the bells and whistles of a top line Marquee player while putting in the performances and effort of a guy that gave up years ago.

Hopefully he'll realise retirement is better for him.

Its sad to see a guy of his calibre go on too long and not know when to stop. Cmon Harry give it up mate

My mail is that Newcastle Jets are chasing hard for his services. The Jets had the option of taking Carle off Sydney's hands but knocked it back to go after Kewell. Apparently Kewells relationship with Michael Bridges and Emile Heskey is a big selling point.

They still play more youth players than Victory.

I don't even think Essendon, Carlton, or Collingwood fans have as much of a sense of entitlement as Victory supporters. Such unfounded smuggery.

Bit of a myth that, I think you'll find that in 2012-13 we blooded significantly more youth team players.

sure mate, whatever, but we don't go around saying we are all about youth policy then end up signing 30+ old farts, such is how confused the Heart are about there philosophy.

it's a perfect, fit after all both Harry and Heart spew out endless dialogues of Sh@t!!

People really need to get over the whole youth policy thing.

On Harry Kewell, he's a complete twat and I can see this ending very badly, but if he plays well on a cheap contract it might be a reasonable signing.

jesus christ

THEIR philosophy for youth is promoting players from the youth team, which they have done better than us in the past 3 years. of course that has arguably changed in the last year but people need to get around what their youth policy is about

do you expect them to have 23 players all under the age of 20??

There youth policy is no different then any of the other 9 clubs, yet they always come out with lines like the whole "we are focued on youth and developing and signing youths" Then they end up signing 30+ socceroo has beens.
There is nothing special about there pity youth system all they are is a bunch of hypocrites end off.

what has signing players over the age of 30 got to do with promoting youth?

The club certainly tried to sell the "promotion of Australian youth" angle in the first couple of years (largely as a response to the Victory's bad image at the time). It was just a way of promoting the club when there wasn't much else to attract people. Of course there's no real difference to any other club. No team can win in the a-league with a team full of youth because as soon as they're any good they'll leave (as we've seen).

nothing!! read my post its the hypocrisy I'm pointing out. Also Heart don't promote youths anymore then any other club, but make a big deal when they do as if they are the only club that's doing it.

let me just refresh some of Scott Munns wisdom from two years ago when we where about to sign Harry.

"But we are not too worried. We are in this for the long haul. The circus comes to town and then leaves,'' CEO Scott Munn said yesterday.

''That's great, but we want to make sure we are still here in 50 years which is why we are signing young players who will be the future of the game here, players like Mate Dugandzic, Curtis Good and Brendan Hamill."

lol future of the game here? two of them were sold overseas in there fire sale's last season (not to mention a few others too) the other is product of MV's youth.

Hyprocites..

of course they aren't the only club but they have done it better than anyone else so far
