Kicked 53 goals last year. Im sure you also remember the 5 he kicked against you guys in 2017 as well. Hes a good player who is injured. Our clubs ******.

After round 1 everyone on the board said Tmac, Viney, Jetta and a couple others were playing injured. Jetta is now out for 10. Tmac hasnt gotten near the ball. Last year he played pre season then missed 8 weeks with a foot issue. Viney played the back end of 17 with planta fascia and then missed 3 months. Jetta has been diabolically bad this year and then look out for 10 with a knee that was already bandaged.

Joel Smith was limping in a JLT game, we sent him back out in the second half and now hes out for 2 months.

We played Lewis, Jones, Viney, Hibberd, Mcdonald and a bunch of others off no preseason.

Sorry turned it into a Melbourne rant
I'm aware he's a good footballer but my man the big Q Quinten Lynch kicked 65 and 53 in successive years. Jack Darling kicked 50+ in his second season then chilled for 5 years.

Is 2018 the exception or norm for TMac? 27 this year so hitting his prime. Hogan still played a role most of last year which Weeeed currently isn't up to.

Dunno if the majority disagree with it.. but I never thought Terry Wallace was a bad coach, we were just shocking everywhere else especially in administration.
Nothing he's said in his media career in relation to trades and drafting indicates he knew what he was doing.

"The List Manager" is the most unintentionally ironic nickname in footy.

Nothing out of the ordinary now but I was pro-Buckley throughout 2017 and earlier. Certainly felt like I was in the minority then. The Collingwood board was a pretty unhappy place. Threads with absolutely nothing to do with Buckley and the coaching staff would somehow become about Buckley. It was extremely frustrating.

The afl is too Vic centric, and it is a joke that Victorian aboriginal players are treated differently to Sa or Wa aboriginal players.

If it was the other way around there would be a huge uproar.
Can you give an example of where this has happened?

Vic aboriginal players have had a long history of being treated absolutely terribly.

Guess we will find out mate. I know he's not as bad as he is playing, I guarantee you at some point he will miss with his foot it's clear as day

Hard to argue for me. His last season with us is his worst goals per game season average since he turned 22. He wasn't right for whatever reason and going to Adelaide changed the trajectory of his career. Good for him. Happy for him. Doesn't mean we should have paid 500k a year for him.
Eddie finished second and third in the b&f the two years prior to that. I reckon he was entitled to ask for more coin.

Matt Kreuzer is ordinary.

He is almost revered by Carlton supporters as some kind of barometer or spiritual leader, but doesn't do anything amazingly well, with perhaps the only exception being tackling (for a ruckman).

He is slightly undersized for a ruck, competes hard but doesn't dominate tap outs, doesn't take nearly enough marks and is a shocking kick. He's much better below his knees than above his head, which ain't what you want from a 200cm player.

Finished top 10 in the Carlton b&f only three times. Best finish third in 2017.

I have no idea what you are getting at with this statement.
Please elaborate

As a non Carlton fan, I seem to think of a fully fit Kreuzer playing ruck then going forward and clunking Marks. Vividly remember the “Kruuuuusssseee” chant from Carlton fans as you could see him setting himself for a mark

Happens very infrequently. Most of the time he runs underneath the ball, or it slips straight thru his hands. Takes the odd mark, but is remarkably poor overhead, always has been. Also extremely unreliable from an injury aspect.

And one of his three top ten b&f finishes was a ninth.

Should have sacked Hird and the others in 2013. Shouldn't have ruined 5 seasons denying and obfuscating drug cheating. I too would be done if he came back.

Someone from the Essendon board just had a fit.
Something I've battled with in regards to the saga is the constant denial and pariah complex that has come from Essendon, as well as blame shifting from management. If the club copped it all on the chin, purged the club and moved on I would've forgotten quickly and not cared. I think it would have benefitted Essendon as well.

Hird was a brilliant footballer, but I just couldn't warm to him, couldn't join in the circle jerk. Way too smug and arrogant for me. My Essendon mates thought I was mental. The night of his and sheedy's farewell game had me saying on their lap of honour " right, you can both **** off now"
And then they brought him back as bloody coach, no apprenticeship, no learning at another club, straight into the top job. So typical.
**** that made me angry.

I’d take Hird over Brad Scott in a heartbeat

Some truths in there, he isn’t as good a mark as some seem to think.

However, much of his b & f finished being lower are simply due to being injury plagued throughout his whole career.

His kicking for goal was great back 2008/09, I think quite often since he is too gassed when he actually has a shot.

He does a lot of intangibles very well (blocking, getting involved at ground level, chasing, tackling etc), which you can see help out side a lot when he’s up and going, especially with a young midfield.

Look at our 2017 season compared to since then to see how much we have missed him being fit. Mind you just having an opposing ruckman not be BOG was a nice change
