Some truths in there, he isn’t as good a mark as some seem to think.

However, much of his b & f finished being lower are simply due to being injury plagued throughout his whole career.

His kicking for goal was great back 2008/09, I think quite often since he is too gassed when he actually has a shot.

He does a lot of intangibles very well (blocking, getting involved at ground level, chasing, tackling etc), which you can see help out side a lot when he’s up and going, especially with a young midfield.

Look at our 2017 season compared to since then to see how much we have missed him being fit. Mind you just having an opposing ruckman not be BOG was a nice change
The numbers don't lie.

Yes injures have played a big part as I alluded to earlier, but his record is his record. He's his own worst enemy in that regard. I reckon he played hurt a lot, aggravating niggles to the point where it was to his and the team's detriment.

I will agree that the intangibles he does reasonably well, though for some to suggest he's like an extra midfielder is utter BS. A dozen or so largely ineffective possessions a game, without contested marks... I expect more.

Probably applies to more than just my own club, but I get annoyed how people think some players are 'untradeable'.

If the offer is right, every player can be traded. While I like that our club doesn't look to offload players as it keeps morale high and helps with team camaraderie, I still think that every player has their price.

Milne had a play on that ball in the 2010 G/F and could have turned that point into a goal for the win. He lost his nerve.

I have seen this point debated a few times over the years and can’t agree.

The ball bounced too far in front of him - both the initial kick from Hayes and the bad bounce for a behind - for him to have any chance.

I love Beams. However, I don’t think he has made our team much better. He certainly hasn’t helped the long-term development of the team.

The recruitment of Beams will probably force a couple of Sier, Daicos, Brown, Wills, and other players to look for further opportunities. I don’t blame them for leaving.

Just don’t see how the club expects to develop any future midfielders.
