I know, believe me I know.

I'm too nice/shy to speak up though.

She also takes sick leave for consultation appointments about cosmetic stuff, I had an MRI booked a few months back and took it as an RDO because I didn't think it could be classified as sick leave due to me actually not being sick and I could of gone to work after ... I'm different I guess.
A lot of places have done away with 'sick leave' and it's now called 'personal leave' so that things like your MRI would come under that. You're not necessarily 'sick' but it's a medical appointment and everybody knows you're sometimes at the beck and call of when they can fit you in rather than the other way around.

Treatment for her varicose veins, didn't know if anyone really wanted to know that haha.
Tbf varicose veins can be painful but let's assume for the purposes of this story that she's just being a campaigner because she sounds like one.

It's easy for me to sit here and say damn girlfriend you need to stand up for yourself and get some satisfaction but damn girlfriend you need to stand up for yourself and get some satisfaction!

Yeah they can be painful but for a consultation I'd think not, and yeah, she is a campaigner ... claims if she comes to work 5 minutes early etc.

And yeah I do need to speak up but like I said I'm shy and hate rocking the boat so just zip it.

Good to know about personal leave, I don't know why but I just feel wrong if I take sick leave when I'm not actually sick.

I only take sick days if I physically am sick, I see an MRI as just a scan, it doesn't make me sick therefore I should be able to work after it.

Oh and Vajayjay bolded the cosmetic surgery part so presume he was wondering about that :)
I tend to work when I'm sick (a cold anyway), my wife kicks me out of the house so I spend less time contaminating the place, so I don't mind taking a day off for a scan or something similar.

When someone like this speaks up I tend to listen, as things must be pretty screwed up when they choose to voice their opinion.

Might not be that good to know if your workplace doesn't operate that way. :p

In my workplace its best to be quiet, the ones who speak up get in trouble ... ahh, local government.

But if it was a bigger issue I'd have to grow some lady balls but I think I'm just being petty.

DO you play much in Melbourne Howie? If yes, which are your preferred courses?
I used to play a lot pre kids, now it's been whittled down to the odd work golf day. They get us into some nice courses but if I'm just with mates we usually play Yarra Bend, Ivanhoe, Eyensbury or Growling frog.

You looking for courses to try?

I'm in much the same boat, and haven't played anywhere except Yarra Bend, Camberwell Freeway and Sandringham.

My eldest has recently taken a shining to golf, so hopefully it means more time on the course in years to come.

Bought a memory card at a reasonable but not fanciful price. 8GB card rebadged and sold as 128GB.
Ouch. Yeah I never buy stuff like that online. I looked into it once but a bit of investigoogling made it seem like too much of a risk because of that exact problem. They seem to be reasonably cheap at a shop now anyway I thought. Thought you might have meant people selling 'signed' stuff.

I bought two, one was even cheaper, from HK, yet 100% legit. It's the guy just up the road who's ******* people over. Anyway, Ebay's resolution procedures are solid, so I'll get a refund one way or another.

I'm the poor soul at work who has to take the sick calls and the excuses.....

But this week a guy TEXTED in sick. That's a no no, the call is meant to be hard, it's the deterrent!

How's your ability? Sub 100?

Confident teeing off in front of strangers?

I have no problem with the concept of texting or emailing in sick. It's the 21st century. As long as contact is made.

I used to be able to play off 18, but got sick of being routinely embarrassed by my younger sister, who played off 7. I generally get around in the low twenties now.
Not sure if srs. If so that is pretty impressive.

I used to play semi-regularly with bunch of work mates who were mostly hackers which suited me just fine but there was this one guy that had genuine talent. I never got sick of watching him tee off. It was amazing.

I'm a 95 - 105 golfer. Could call me a scrubber. I probably hit 50% of my balls pretty well but the other 50 % let me down

One mate we play with his genuinely talented, he hits off the tee with genuine velocity it punches through the air rather that coasts or floats.

I usually drag him down to my level by about the 12th, he mentally relaxes and starts to fall apart

Yeah, she's 6 years younger than me, and it wasn't fun being 19 and annihilated by a 13 year old. She's 5 foot flat, and doesn't hit a particularly long ball, but was absolutely deadly when within 100 yards of the pin.

She's a pastry chef now, and so doesn't get much time to play. We recently went out for 9 holes, and while a bit rusty, still had me easily covered.

You all suck. If I break 100 it's a very good day.

I actually haven't played since I became a dad, which is probably a good thing. I used to get more angry and fired up playing golf than I did playing footy. With golf I was the only one to blame and I don't think I liked that (but for some reason I couldn't stop playing).
