Or just conversations on speaker. If you're holding your phone to your mouth with it on speaker you can just as easily hold it to your ear without it on speaker. Nobody gives a shit about how important you think you and your life are!

Now do not get me wrong I have been very nervous about the plight of SE Queensland given my Dad and his wife , my mum and my sister and her husband living on the Sunshine Coast and two sisters living in Brisbane but some of the reporting has been a total over reaction. Yes some tress fell down. We did not need half hours dissecting the fate of the trees. Serious. Talk about another over reach.

Ok first of all I agree the media hyped this up like you wouldn't believe.

But a 7yo crying in bed at 3am when the winds were close to breaking windows is still real. It wasn't good.

Not saying it was good or any less frightening for those involved. I was worried down here for my family. Just report the news without the BS. In some ways I think how it is all reported makes the lead in worse.

I just do not think doing a live cross for someone to spend 15 minutes describing a tree lying on the ground in detail is great news. Virtually no news on Brisbane and nothing on the Sunshine Coast. I had to make a few calls to find out what was going on. It would have given nothing to locals watching if they actually had power to watch it. They where going for the Hollywood cross of the windblown reporter with crashing seas in the background and when they did not get it rather than not bothering they gave 15 minutes describing a tree.

Could have given me two minutes saying the Sunshine Coast was okay so I had some info about where the family lives but no it was all about the tree
