Chris has hit a new low in his whole football career. Watching him very carefully tonight, he didn't seem very interested at all out on the field. I'd send him down to Williamstown for confidence reasons, and hoping he can perform to the ability we all know Chris can perform at. But with Pebs, and now young Travis on the sidelines, Chris is probably the only tall option up forward, and that is scary because Chris is not even confident in himself anymore.

What would you do with him?

He's playing terribly right now , but he certainly is playing hurt -bad hip and knee.
Will be having surgery at the end of the year , really should be having it now.

Its hard for him because he's not only getting the number one defender but hes being outnumbered. It was so different when rocca is playing becuase he gets the best defender and it releases Taz. But i dont know what we can do with him now :(

Rusling's injury hurt him.
Tarrant's body language is poor but I don't blame him. He might want to work on it but he is just showing what most players should be thinking. Tarrant does give up in poor losses (against Sydney he worked hard contrary to popular belief) but its hard to work hard when you are reportably injured and the ball isn't near you.
Tarrant does work hard, but not when it's going the teams way. Tarrant had a below average game last week but still worked hard. The criticism is way too harsh on Tarrant. Tonights loss was the fault of Davis who did nothing and let his oponent do anything, Wakelin getting beaten, Swan's poor checking across defence, O'Bree tagged out way too easily, Burns and Buckley quiet and forced to play up forward, Lonie a bit too loose, Caracella being the only target up forward, kicking into the forward line by EVERYONE, Rusling and the 2 clokes injurys didn't help, Fanning getting smashed in the ruck as well as around the ground and finally Tarrant was beaten.
Tarrant is one of the reasons why we lost.

Tarrant has been playing with a knee injury all season. He has a cyst under the knee that needs surgery to get rid of. You would've noticed earlier in the year the doctor came out to him everytime after a packed marking situation. It was reported that his knee blew up heavily after the sydney game. You'll find that is the reason he seems to try and avoid contact most of the time.

With the season over you'd think we'd rest Tarrant for 1 or 2. Although I'd keep him in if Travis is injured.
I'd give Davidson a chance to impress and rest Fraser as a half forward flanker and play Tarrant's ideal role (floating forward) when he comes back. I've always thought Tarrant's ideal role is the role Embley plays when in the forward line except more leading and closer to goal.
Perhaps even Hall will be given a go earlier than he would usually.

yeah i agree jabso....give Tommy and Hall a crack and let us have a look at them, Tarrant is struggling and playing under duress, so give him a spell, and play some of the players who are borderline to stay at the club perhaps and have a look at what they have got

just as an outsider, the loss of rocca and fraser is massive tarrant now gets the best defender, i think he needs to be the floating forward up the ground

Taz has said he is only playing because Rocca is out. But now the season is officially over, i think its time they got the surgery done.

Bring in Davidson, Hall and Morrison for Taz, Cam and Trav (he needs a rest anyway). We need to look at those 3 at some stage

I agree.

Its time that we all forget about this season. Its a write off. The supporters, and most importantly, the coaching team must start planning for next season. If we play Rocca this season, then it is official that Malthouse has sh(t for brains. Rocca shouldn't even start running till pre-season. Our season next season's almost hinges on Rocca's achilles heel recovering fully next season...as does T. Clokes future. I'm afraid that by playing him CHF at such a young age, the guy will be finished by his mid 20's. We must be careful with what we do to T. Cloke. He should not have had to shoulder the responsibility he has at the age of 18.

This means let Taz have surgery NOW, so that he can recover in time for pre-season, and give him time to prepare for a big season next season, most importanltly he'll be fully fit.

Play Buckley in the forward line AT ALL TIMES, rest him for one last season in the midfield next season....and this will also groom him for a forward line role next season.

Davidson, Hall Morrison to play in the forward line for the rest of the season, and Cole, Jacabucci and Didak to play in the midfield for the rest of the season.

Leave Davis in the team, playing Didaks role in the hope that his trade value rises a bit.

I wouldn't delist Davis....there are plenty of players I'd delist before him. Trade for picks...yes, delist...no.

Most importantly, we as a club, must stop overrating ourselves, and realize that at the moment, we are just not good enough. In hindsight, finals hopes were over a month ago, and we should of started planning from there.

He is obviously carrying an injury. Worst game he's ever played for Collingwood by a mile.
i hope he has got a pretty bad injury, otherwise we need to trade him while we can get something for him.before people scream me down , think of it this way.if we trade tarrent he can only hurt us twice a year , at the moment he hurts us 3 out of every 4 games.

Tarrant is not fit, get him right for next year.

Jhonson is not fit either and it shows even more than Tarrant. Whats the point of playing injured players.

He is not a Full Forward, never has been and is a 30 - 50 goals a year player. If we trade him, what will we get a midfeider and Rocca next year with 3 players on him.

ppl make wayy too many excuses for tarrant. he is a ********ing overrated hack who is finally getting found out after all these years. he has ALWAYS been very inconsistent and is too easily beaten in contested mark situations. now that his kicking is even worse than before makes him nothing but a joke

Simple answer is to trade him.....I suggested it a year ago and a few on this board shot me down. Tarrant will never turn into a trade that will hurt us or have regret a move of this type. Sure he'll kick a goal or two but once the expectations and pressures on him grow he will shrink and go through the motions as he is now.

Tarrant is playing for a pay cheque he has no desire to endure the mental and physical rigours of playing the sport. If he was a genuine champ he could play injured as the Voss's Hird's Kouta's buckley's of this world have done and have done so with aplomb. He should be in a position of leadership at the club and his not. He should be a best and fairest cos Iam sure he gets paid like a best and fairest and he is not. His goal kicking average is below what we should consider acceptable and the list goes on.

Taking marks on the wing and kicking into the forward fifty when ur paid to kick goals is a great way to make ur stats look good(and get an All-Australian call up) but when ur outmarked by a 5ft10 back pocket in CJohnson who's courage and class cant be questioned then it all kinda speaks for itself.

Hell yeah I'd trade him for picks, gimme two first rounders and anyne can have him...or two picks in the top 25 either first or second round...done deal...

What you need to do is look at the talent level of this years draft and most good judges will tell you it's not a good year to finish bottom. Therefore trading Taz would be a HUGE mistake. Do you get Discovery Channel? Watch a wildlife special and see how difficult it is to hunt alone. When all our parts are together we'll be fine. What we should do is trade our No1 for Nick Stevens who is very unhappy at Carlton.

What - injuries are not a valid reason why a player is down on form?
You did know he gets his knee drained nearly every week, just so that he can get onto the ground the next week.
If there is fault anywhere it is with the club for making him play knowing he is not 100% fit.
