I can't decide between these two, it changes every month.

Would work as wedding songs too I think.

I liked the Atlas Sound suggestion.

I dunno otherwise.. It is such a morbid thing.

Ideally I'd have a song by one of my favourite bands but Radiohead and Brand New don't really have too many that'd suit that arrangement. Maybe Play Crack The Sky.

I think Fireworks by Animal Collective would be a good choice.

Or There's No Leaving now by The Tallest Man On Earth.

Or Edelweiss.

I came into this thread to post exactly these two songs. Untitled #1 to open the show and #3 to close, for me. The film After The Wedding uses #1 perfectly in a funeral scene.

After my dad died last year, we closed proceedings with a little Bob Dylan. Beautiful track.

My dream job would be to pick songs for movies/tv shows.
Let's hope we don't have to have Sigur Ros playing for a long time.

this has been 'my funeral song' for many years basically ever since I first heard it and knew it was so fantastic

Opeth - To Bid You Farewell

Last chance to inflict hippy bullshit on the world so I would go with

Get Together by The Youngbloods
The Balance by The Moody Blues and
Across The Universe by The Beatles

Starts at about .55

See ya at da crossroads (so you won't be lonely!)

---

At my funeral, if different scenarios were to arise;

Lupe Fiasco - Streets on Fire (if it was like an apocalypse-like death)
Wu Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck (if I was necked)
A Tribe Called Quest - I left my wallet in El Segundo (if I died with little cash)
Nas - What comes around (if I was poisoned)
Nas - If I ruled the world (exactly if the title was true)
2Pac - Cradle to the grave (just because)

Of course, I doubt my family would want said songs played at my curtain call.
