What Song Would You Like At Your Funeral?

I think I have changed my mind on this.
As an Irish immigrant in the 80's this song sums it up and reduces me to tears everytime.
My family were migrants to our great country but we left some brothers and sisters in the soil.
This would be fitting.
Elvis Costello and The Chieftains.
The long Journey Home
Yes.

Best intro to a song I reckon I've ever heard.

Little known fact , Colin Hay is a funny bastard.

Long story short because I'm not Colin Hay and I cant type in a Scottish accent

Basically some drunk bloke came up to him one night and requested he play a song....and old favorite

The one about the goats

"Goats" said Colin? I didnt write any song about goats

Yes you did...the one where the goats appear and fade away.

(He also does a great funny into to Down Under when he discusses the backstage debacle at the Sydney Olympics)

Last chance to inflict hippy bulls**t on the world so I would go with

Get Together by The Youngbloods
The Balance by The Moody Blues and
Across The Universe by The Beatles

So add Someday We'll Be Together - Supremes and That's The Way - Zep
Just trying to think of another good one I heard the other day .... And When I Die?
All You Need Is Love
maybe Strawberry Fields

My friend's dad Rick was pretty influential in my friend and I playing music together (for over two decades now!) and we were asked to play at his funeral a few weeks ago. It was a bit out of the box, but we did a slow, Chris Isaac-style cover or Viva Las Vegas. There was something oddly suitable about it.
