I'm just interest to know if any of you played footy, and if so, at why standard.

I played up in Sydney, at East Sydney from from 1965 (20 years old) to 1978. I played first grade (which isn't that good in sydney) from 1968 to 1977.

I am only 14. I am currently playing at the Mooroolbark Football Club in Melbourne, Victoria. I have played for 3 years and am coming up for my forth year this season.

Well I played "in the house" footy. I had to try to not kick the ball at the vases positioned around the house, which was fairly difficult but built up my skill level.

I also played "backyard" footy but the ball kept on going over the neighbours fence fairly regularly, so I stopped playing that level of football.

Then there was "Kick to Kick" footy and that was the one I really excelled at.

played for a few years in the 'on the street' league... kick to kick... and, gettin off the road when car's turned into our street..haha..

yeah, i really excelled in indoor footy.. in the house... using one door entrance as the goal's, i could kick goals regularly from any position in the loungeroom...

didnt damage any vases, but did put a few cracks in the ceiling lights (glass covers).. damn...

sh!tty high school footy but hey we pinched some Roo jumpers so we got something outta it! Much prefer to play footy with my mates every night but!!!....ah and Darky i haven't forgotten i still have to whip your arse when we have our little kick remember hehe

before playing D grade amateurs with Clayton.

I stopped playing when I was 19 because I was an injury crock and I wasn't that good!

I also umpired for 3 years in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.

Yep I played in a team of girls, we played the boys, we were all Cohuna High School Ex students, and were those boys mean, they wanted to show the girls how good they were, and they really didnt want the girls getting one kick on them, the game got called off half way through the second quarter. There were some tough girls in our team.

Stealth, would the AFL give us permission to play the game as a curtin raiser to the Grand Final?

We would even have a State of Origin match, although players would have to play for their adopted state (since WA would never have the numbers for a full team) - so Sandie you'll have to wear the Sandgroper jumper

Played for a suburban club, juniors till I was 16, then seniors for half a year, did my knee, so when I recovered I continued cricket, coz I could talk a better game of footy than I could actually play.

I played a long time in the eastern suberbs league here in melb, infact i played footy for abouy 12 years and loved every minute of it,i was not a gifted player. But i used to love getting in at the centre bounces and mouthing off at the opposition and giving them heaps.I paid the price with a collapsed lung twice broken teeth and numerous facial injuries, when i played it was a mans game not like the pussy's that run around now,the squealers and do gooders did not stand a chance when i played, you sorted them bastards out in a pack with a swift punch in the nuts. And im talking 12 years ago!!I played every position on the field,i loved playin centre and full back,i hated playin on the wing. And looking back with great sadness i never played finals football.

I get up in the evening and i ain't got nothing to say,I come home in the morning,I go to bed feeling the same way,I ain't nothing but tired,Man i'm just tired and bored with myself,Hey there baby,I could use just a little help.

Never played a game in my life! Tried in high school, but my principal didn't deem it suitable for young catholic schoolgirls to be runing around tackling each other for a piece of leather.... funny really

Anyway, having killed not one, but two of my brothers footys under buses, I'm now banned from kick-to-kick as well, so I'm purely an observer....

I was a rugged half back flanker for Reservoir (played my first senior game aged 17) in the Diamond Valley league.
Retired 10 years ago at the age of 21 due to persistent back injuries.

where's wally?

Spent all my years playing Bball played District Bball for a few years next step up was State but they deemed me too small so now im just playing in a local league.

I can handle the fighting, its the affection i cant stand and i dont mind us talking just dont try to touch my hand.

I played Rugby Union in NZ as a kid and was good enough to tour Fiji and Tonga with a New Zealnd School Boys squad in 1978.

Came to Adelaide in 1981 and took up soccer for a year (a disaster) then tried out for Aussie Rules at Flinders University in 1982. Enjoyed it immensely although in terms of fitness, stamina, skill and strength - this fat grunt of a rugby player found it tough going.

Played for the Adelaide University Blacks in 1983 (yes I know Bob Neil !)then trained and played acouple of pre-season games with Edwardstown in the SAFA - not good enough and never went on with it from there.

Broke a leg Sking in 1985 and never kicked a ball in anger since.

Of course was a total champion at Indoor Footy, our first house in Adelaide had a hallway that ran the length of the house and it made a great indoor footy arena, no broken vases, but plenty of skid marks on the wallpaper and also a black eye on my Mum who came out of tyhe kitchen at precisely the wrong moment !

cheers

Came to Australia in 88 (from England) so never played as I was already a bit too old.

Was crap at soccer at school too. Was permanently assignes as goalkeeper or left back (in the changeroom !)

I played full back for Bradvale U16, U17, U18 in Central Victoria before the team folded because we couldn't get players. Sometimes the situation was so grim the U16's also played in the Reserves and the Seniors. Then I moved to YCW-CYC U19 in Ballarat where the highpoint of my whole career occured when we played North Ballarat in a semi-final and i took a mark over Tony Lockett. However, Tony eventually went on to kick 7 goals off me.
