Bloody chardonnay set, fickle supporters, that don't get out to support their own club
Maybe it's because they don't have any supporters, People hate watching Wayne Carey unlike other superstars who have attracted big crowds over the years.
They are too predictable, and everyone knows when they are going to win, why bother watching. I would like to know how they have more than 20,000 members?

Well, don and gocatsgo--I think that if norff have 20,000 supporters and that they get this number by counting their legs, then there are an awful lot of norff supporters who go under the nick-name "Jake-the-Peg"

If 70,00 turn up for the Essendon vs Norff match. 20,00 is the most they can claim. Unless thier mums turn up then 20,017 (carey's mum doesn't like him)

Maybe Dennis Pagen could try playing them with steaks tied around their necks at least they'd have some hungry dogs in the crowd

Footscray had their suppoters in free to watch one of their matches. How much would Norff have to PAY their "supporters" (or anybody) to watch one of theirs??

Now now Kiddies, that's not very nice. Don't forget about the fact that Sydney held the largest march in the history of Aust. on Sunday approx. 500 thousand walked across the Coat Hanger for six hrs. Up yours LITTLE Johny.
Musn't have been much fun for the Roo Boys, playing in the icy weather without a crowd to warm them up, you'd think they'd lost the way they sang the club song. They'll be pleased to back home on Sunday to play the Bombers, then again maybe not.

well, don--I think that your question (ie, what the hell is wrong with norff supporters) is actually a rhetorical one. they are, after all, supporters of norff--and hence--that explains the problem with them!
(I like the idea of tying those juicy steaks around their necks to attract the dogs--but given the problems terry wallace's boys have with attracting supporters, I think it might be better just to send the whole norff club to the knackery--they are too old and too slow anyway--and fit for nothing better. at least they'll provide someone at the knackery with a job. no dog would eat that meat!)

Maybe it should have been What Norff Supporters?
Maybe Norff supporters should go with their true calling and switch to becoming Collingwood supporters.
During the transitional phase they could just watch games on a Black & White TV until they get used to it.

I just visited Patrick Smith's article for the australian.
He is suggesting that the north-Port debacle is one thing but the real problem is the near $1million the AFL is paying north to play in sydney.
You tend to agree. For not much more they could establish a new team in sydney.(Or brisbane etc etc) After ten years of $1m a year the 'new' team would be more established in sydney than north would be.
Perhaps north needs to come back to melbourne, try to win over it's supporters here (perhaps go back to the friday night at colonial thing) and wait for the new TV deal to bring in the dosh
