Bit nauseating seeing the pic of this gimp [Finlayson] on the back page of the Hun

FU telling our supporters they can be quiet after they take the trouble to travel in numbers to take on your pathetic franchise who nobody wants

Might be an idea if Finlayson is going to show teeth not have them look like this..

He and his mates aren’t used to noise at their matches anyway, it hurt their precious ears.

It’s like a lotto winner who blows all their winnings or a pampered private school kid who flunks their VCE and has to become a garbo (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Given everything, achieved f*** all. Embarrassing, but hilarious for the rest of us.

Now THIS is the article I am glad was written.
How do others feel about the "MAKE SOME NOISE!!" etc nonsense that went on at the ground yesterday?
I feel a final shouldn't be like a home game during the season. You get to play at your location because it's a national competition, yes, but the rest of the razzamatazz doesn't fit the finals bill.

AFL finals: GWS dirty tactics, tiny crowd and bizarre stadium PA chants
Michael Randall, Herald Sun
September 7, 2019 7:16pm

Footy fans have gone into meltdown over GWS’ physical play and the sparse crowd at Giants Stadium, as a dirty day for the Bulldogs was been compounded by a report and a serious knee injury to a young star.

“Let’s go, Giants, let’s go”.
Something you’d expect over the speakers at a basketball game, but not traditionally at the footy. But that’s what fans heard at Giants Stadium during Greater Western Sydney’s Elimination Final smashing of the Western Bulldogs — and they were not happy.

Have you ever heard cheering audio played during an AFL match? Like basketball?
“Let’s go giants let’s go” periodically through the speaker. Is this even legal? #AFLGiantsDogs #AFLFinals

There were plenty of empty seats in the stadium — the top tier of the Suttor Stand empty — with estimates the crowd was “50-50”, even though the Doggies fans had to travel to Western Sydney — and some even missed their flights.

Leon Cameron should complain to the AFL about his home final sounding like an away game. It’s not fair they are outnumbered like that.

When the camera pans around Giants Stadium to show far more Bulldogs fans than Giants fans (especially when you consider the travel delays due to gale-force winds) is that not the most damning indictment of the Giants franchise that there is? #AFLGiantsDogs

If all that wasn’t enough, the shadow looming over the Giants Stadium ground is making it hard to watch.

Dogs' major issue in recruiting indigenous stars
https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/...r/news-story/ce5d1c51116368c3aacf3541aeca8f75

The Western Bulldogs have now missed out on recruiting Jack Martin, Jarman Impey and Chad Wingard in successive seasons, highlighting the challenges the club faces in attracting indigenous players.

Western Bulldogs have struck out on another indigenous player with unfulfilled talent Jack Martin set to join Carlton. The Bulldogs tabled Martin the most generous offer — as much as $700,000 per season for five years — but the outside ball winner has rejected overtures from Whitten Oval and Fremantle, leaving the Blues in pole position to strike a trade. Martin, 24, will still earn a long-term deal at the Blues but will play for less cash, joining indigenous players Sam Petrevski-Seton and former Dog Liam Jones.

It is the third time in as many years that the Dogs have failed to recruit an indigenous talent, largely because they do not have any indigenous players on their list. In 2017 they heavily pursued Port Adelaide utility Jarman Impey, who dined with Bulldog leaders including Marcus Bontempelli at Crown Casino as he mulled their contract offer.

Impey’s close friend, Jackson Trengove, had signed at the Dogs as a free agent in recent weeks and was pushing Impey to join him. But when Impey learned that there weren’t any indigenous players at the Bulldogs he instead accepted Hawthorn’s offer, where he played alongside superstars Cyril Rioli and Shaun Burgoyne.

The following year Chad Wingard was choosing between the Dogs and Hawks, but with Impey at Waverley Park and still no indigenous stars at the Dogs, the dual All-Australian picked Hawthorn.

Dogs president Peter Gordon has conceded that the club’s lack of indigenous players was likely to have dented their hopes of landing Wingard. But the Bulldogs boast an elite welfare system and recently had Brett Goodes helping drive the change as the club’s indigenous liason officer.

“We can’t solve that problem overnight and we have tried to take a multi-faceted approach to it,” Gordon said recently. “We might potentially draft two or three (indigenous players) in any particular year and they will be a part of a sea change of the history and culture of the club.

The Bulldogs have priority access to indigenous teenage sensation Jamarra Ugle-Hagan through their academy and are keen to draft the key forward in 2020.

Missing out on Martin will only strengthen the Dogs’ chances of securing bookends Josh Bruce (St Kilda) and Alex Keath (Adelaide). The Dogs boast a war chest and Bruce appears certain to cross on a long-term deal, possibly in exchange for a second-round pick.

I'm happy we missed out on Wingard and also happy that we appear to have missed out on Martin. Nothing to do with their indigenous status - they are both overrated and I believe are/were not worth the price tag.

Looking forward to the arrival of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. Hopefully we can draft some more indigenous players also.

Say what you will but its extremely disconcerting when a you've just made the finals have given a player their biggest offer they have received and get out recruited by Carlton.

Smacks of some process not being right.

Mangrook:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:, Mangrook:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:, Mangrook & Grant Hansen, Rex Hunt & Gilbert McAdam. HOO BLOODY RAH!!!

Gave it to the AFL tribunal on the Greene incident. If you can watch it from 25 mins into the show you'll hear it.

Grant Hansen was absolutely WILD about it. Good on him.

Well said. Honest, obvious & what everyone is thinking - different rules for different players in different rounds.

Kellie Underwood on Back Page Live attacked the Sydney Morning Herald for suggesting he should be suspended!

She's a complete potato though

Didn’t she have a cosy ‘he’s a good guy, just misunderstood’ chat with Greene on that show of hers on Fox?

Interesting Back Page is a Sydney based show and they could’ve easily pointed out the two NRL players whacked with 8+ week suspensions this year for eye gouging and the suspension handed to a player only last week for hair pulling.

But why let facts get in the way?

Haven't listened to the whole thing, but heard most of the Nick Truelson part in the car today:

It's finals time. The netball grand final is this weekend, the NRL finals kick off and the AFL semis are underway.

There are ticket sales, accommodation, merchandise, sponsors, TV ratings - they all add up.

Winning a premiership can transform a club and great ratings help get the next broadcast deal.

He never misses. Cause you know, grub Greene gouging and pulling hair was Bevo’s fault as well.

World War 2? Bevo.

The 1929 Stockmarket crash? Bevo

JFK? Yep, you guessed it, Bevo.
I love how he hasn't stopped bringing up the fact that we missed the finals for 2 seasons after winning the flag but then praises Don Pyke for doing the same thing because he "went very close" to winning it all...the guy is just a huge dick.

All coaches are good blokes when they get sacked (or step down).

The media have had their taste of blood so they move onto the next target.

It’s not just Damo but the lack of self awareness media nuffs like Damo show just saddens me. This whole week of remembering Spud Frawley and what seems to be accepted from all his mourning mates that his mental illness was a contributing factor which he himself relates to the constant frenzy against him as Richmond coach will be all forgotten by Saturday night/Sunday morning as they feast upon the carcass of Chris Scott if they go out in straight sets. He might be a flog at time Eddie Maguire and contributes himself but he raised a good point this morning that back in World of Sport days you had Lou and Bobby and Captain Blood reviewing games with a bit of humour and patently obvious observations about the winners and losers. Now they are replaced by a pack of wolves like Damo, Caro, Robbo, Hutchy, Kingy, Tom Brown, Gerard the Infallible and the rest who are trained in stalking, attacking and destroying reputations and paid by the tweet reply and website hit.
