I wish the media wouldn't ******* buy into to all this bias/evening things up bullshit.

Umpires are not biased. They don't look at free kick counts. They don't try to even things up.

Suggesting that they do is actually disrespectful to their job.

There is such a thing as poor umpiring, and I've got nothing against criticisms of poor umpiring.

I really wish the media wouldn't look for some sort of ulterior motive or internal driving force for poor umpiring. I know, they're the media, but they actually shouldn't and that sort of media talk and pressure makes their job actually harder.

You can criticise individual decisions, and you can criticise fundamental aspects of umpiring as a whole, such as the directives of interpretations, their positioning and quality, educate umpires better to how to avoid statistically proven home bias, and/or make suggestions like whether the AFL should pay more to umpiring to allow it to be a full time profession, especially with their new influx of money coming next year with the rights deal.

But actually questioning their motives or believing that there's some sort of biased directive or conspiracy involving umpires... like Bev said it's disgusting. The footy media should be better than that.

Take this part, take out the word umpiring, and replace it with any other word, and this sentence applies to anything you want it to.

The media is absolute shit. That is a clear cut, indisputable fact. The majority of them, and especially the big ones, just care about the story and will twist anything to let it suit them. It's all about being the first to break the story, facts be damned, and twisting anything to fit your own agenda. It's sickening.

Damo the rubbish bin botherer's point wasn't very clear, but the insinuation was that Parnell was over-compensating for his obvious bias towards us in the Adelaide game. Resulting in yesterdays lop sided free kick count.
So then what happens next time Pannell umpires one of our games, does he over-compensate back again lest he be accused of bias against us? The bloke is doomed.

Wood and Dunks on Future Stars. Josh Dunkley is so well spoken. Another natural leader and personality. We've got another beauty.
Was good to see Dunks and Woody on Product Placement Corner.

Seriously, Dunks and his mum did a 'Meet the Parents' segment which was just a giant ad for Radiant laundry powder.

No blame on Dunks and his mum, just rubbish TV.

Surely a record for the amount of McCafe mentions in an hour as well. Almost went to fast forward the ads only to realise it was the show.

Further too all this can more people in the media please stop pointing to free kick differential. While in the heat of watching our teams play it is easy to get hot under the collar about 4 frees to 12 or whatever but there is no reason as to why there can't be 4 frees to 12 regardless of the scoreboard.
Having said that it was disgraceful that it was 10 frees to 23 yesterday.;)

Mark fine just issued out a challenge to anyone "with the balls" to call up his program and challenge him about his views on football.
I tried calling the absolute moron to challenge him about his bias views towards today's Carlton vs St kilda game (some of the worst sports media I've heard). The producer put me on hold for three minutes and all of a sudden I was cut off????

Hey Boris im happy for you to post here (not that it matters) but I'm just curious why you engage in conversation here? do you do it on other teams boards too? I only ask because the majority of people stick to their own board. I'll reiterate that I have no problem you posting here.

No, just here. I follow the Footscray VFL team closely, have some mates involved there and I live near WO, so I just know more about the Dogs than other clubs.

I also love needling Saints fans so I feel a kindred spirit with most Doggies fans here.

I caught the last two minutes of his rant. Was saying that Carlton don't have leaders and singled out some of their stars. Where as St kilda are showing how strong they are under Alan Richardson
Thank you Finey, I needed a good laugh. Good stuff.

I don't hear him much, but I find him entertaining. If he was getting stuck into the blues, that has to be a god thing.......no?

Fine is a moron , but I think he right about Carlton leaders.
Front running weak as piss compared to most other teams.
Had to laugh at Gibbs knocking over Stevens , who then 30 seconds later runs off and kicks a goal.
I guess Gibbs got wondering what it is really like to make body contact after all those years ?

Croc media is a bottom feeding organization that buys the cheapest airtime available (Sat mornings, after midnight radio, Monday night, Sunday arvo tv etc.) and exist first and foremost to sell ads into their 'programs.' Regardless of the show or the medium the content is always secondary to the product.

Case in point. Note that the amount of time spent describing and making juvenile jokes about the pile of useless shit that guests allegedly receive for playing their part in the charade, is very nearly equal to the time that the guest gets on air.

And here was I thinking DerWayne was the worst AFL commentator- I had completely forgotten about Fine's existence.

This sounds like the opening of a joke. I suppose his argument was... holy :p

Pretty sure they sell the content to various stations Norm and the radio stations sell the ads. (the times slots would be the choice of the station)

No doubt they are twits, but Hutchy has done very, very well for himself.
