He played a solid game and is pivotal to our side. Collingwood fans bronxing him should feel ashamed. How much do you want him to do? He had 19 disposals and 5 tackles. He is honestly the easiest target for some of our braindead supporters. Oh look a big guy who is not catching it and not kicking goals, he must be the problem with our team. He contests, blocks and works hard around the stoppages. He is improving as a second ruckman too.
I am truly sick and tired of all the morons thinking that he needs to kick goals to be helpful. We have won 8 in a row without him kicking goals, we dont need him to kick goals. We need him to compete as a chop out ruck, and provide a contest at half forward as well as a get out long kick option. He very rarely gets outmarked in the forward line too, not because he is great overhead, but because he plays in front and competes.

Looked better today than at any time this year. Went missing in the 2nd and 3rd but was not alone in that.
I think he'll struggle against WC's rucks and we can't afford to let the Eagles get easy clearances / goals when Dawes is in the ruck.

Thought he played alright today. He's started really well in the past 2 weeks, I think it's better to persist with him, hopefully he turns a corner just in time for finals.

As do I, as do all supporters and I'm sure the coaches would like it too, but surely you know enough about football to know that a CHF can not be solely judged on goals alone?
So let's say he soccers a couple of goal square jobs off the ground, or gets a joe the goose over the top and kicks two goals, are you happy then? Or was it better that he won a ton of hard balls and fed them off very well to our smalls?
Melbourne set up down back very tall, and it was difficult for either Cloke or Dawes to take marks inside 50 with Watts, Rivers (first half), Sellar, McDonald and Frawley all down there. That's a pretty tough ask to clunk marks inside 50 against those guys. We kicked most of our goals from smalls crumbing because Cloke and Dawes and Goldsack and Jolly at times didn't get outmarked.
