How was exiting Stephenson a shocking mistake? He wouldn't be getting a game if he was still at Collingwood. He will be going nowhere. 2 years into a 5 year deal supposedly worth around $500k p.a.. He is clearly nowhere near that value so no one else will be paying him other than the hapless Roos.
I do not believe I said a word about exiting him at all you have me mixed up with someone else read my post, you will find no ref to trading him good or bad what so ever.

Ah, I read your post as saying him leaving was a shocking mistake, but you were trying to refer to his shocking mistake yesterday?

"...he definitely did not want to leave and that was a shocking mistake.."

I realise now why you thought I was saying it was mistake to get rid of him,I put a comma in the wrong place what I meant was it was a bad mistake by Stephenson then compounded by the fact he let Franklin waltz by.

No worries mate when I read it again I can see how anyone would take it like that god I did and I posted it.

That seems a bit hyperbolic

I'd suggest the simpler explanation is that he's just miserable and has lost the interest/drive to play for North and put in the required effort.

Now I can understand you not like that aspect of him and fair enough, but I still maintain that he'd be far happier being back at the current incarnation of Collingwood and his form would follow and show that
Whether he is happy or not, a player in an elite sporting competition should still be putting in the required effort. If not for themselves then for their team mates. That first goal he gave up happened halfway through the first quarter! Collingwood's mantra atm seems to be that it's ok to make mistakes (ie the HTB and kick to Buddy) but you never give up. Imagine how that would have gone down with 3rd and 4th effort types like Maynard and Noble, who put in all game every game. Or your Brown's and Madgen's sitting in the stands

Your entire post is literally addressed by the second half of my post

I said you may not like the effort part and that’s fair enough. But I still think we get his best if he came back. The effort would follow.

He's suffered badly by being at a shite team. He's talented enough. I'd redraft him -- but he won't be cut from Norf.
No chance, the big money will see him through, but there’s no doubt he’ll play better at Collingwood if he ever returned. He wasn’t a top 10 draft pick for no reason. Only slipped because of the heart concern, and then has shown he is capable at AFL level by winning a Rising Star.
