Adam Treloar is playing some sublime football for the CFC at the moment. He has truly set the standard for the rest of the midfield. His only improvement is the DE, which will come as the season goes on.

Levi Greenwood has been our most consistent midfielder in the last two weeks along side Treloar, he just needs to get his hands on the footy a few more times a game. Can't fault his effort, but just needs to lift it from 20-odd a game to that 25-odd a game.

What we should ideally start expecting is major improvement in getting the footy by Tae Adams, I expect him to start getting 25-30+ possessions and assume the mantle as our #2 midfielder behind King Adam.

We will see more of Scott Pendelbury behind the footy across HB. Similar to that first quarter, he'll clean up and get a few BOGs playing that QB role. Expect stints in the middles when needed.

Steele Sidebottom to come back in a couple of weeks with more assurance to his play/disposal. We know what to expect from Steele, and I don't doubt he'll get back to that superstar form we've come to expect from him in the last two seasons.

Personally speaking, Jack Crisp is our biggest concern in the midfield. Just doesn't look like the player we recruited last year. Could be forced out if he doesn't improve. Would rather see a Goodyear, Phillips or Smith get a go instead as they've got some pre-season form behind them and deserve a go.

Last but not least, the star in making, Jordan De Goey, I expect to get more involved in games as that high HF, getting stints in the guts and add goals to his repertoire, especially with Swanny out now, we need that goal kicking midfielder to add that score board pressure and he's our man.

Add your two cents.

Glad someone noticed this. Looks way off.

Crisp in the first half was good after being poor in the pre-season and round 1.
Adams has had a very slow start to the season.
Haven't been impressed particularly with Greenwood or de Goey yet

Last week against Sydney we started walking down the path to damnation. This week we stopped going down that path, but remains to be seen where we go next.

On Crisp, he is down on form. His form for us last year buys him some slack, but he needs to get more of the ball and more importantly he needs to start running with it.

Pendlebury is playing injured. Once he recovers I expect him to move more into the middle and increase his output.

Aish I expect to go back once he finds his feet and mix and match with a returned Varcoe.

Crisp and Greenwood is a conundrum. Their games are so similar we probably need only one, otherwise the one not playing the centre inside run with role looks out of place. Currently thats Crisp, but I actually think he has more upside than Greenwood. Decisions decisions.

JDG is still learning the caper. He has done more than enough already to show he will be a gem, but he may have occasional downs this season as he comes under more scrutiny from opponents and will need some time in the 2s at some stage for a rest.

Sidey will return and be Sidey.

Adams will continue to grunt it out and be our leading clearance player.

Witts and Grundy will play 12 games together, and start to work out how to work as a combination more effectively with time.

I don't think Greenwood has been that bad. He has stood up whilst others have stopped playing their roles. He has improvements, but far less than a few others going through the middle.

De Goey just needs to get involved more. He hasn't been bad when he has been. He becomes more important to us with Swanny out.

I am expecting Grundy to step up and take his game to a new level.
Would love to see it, but still recon its early on him. As long as he provides equal output or a smidge more as the ruckman, his natural progression will be going in the right path. By the time he's 27-28, he'll be unstoppable.

I think he is currently playing below his best and will improve as the season wears on.

I think Pendubblbery will resume his possie dead center as a soon as we get our back line functioning properly.

That's 4 cents..........

I'm expecting a Crisp to pick up and be crispy and do his thing.

I'm expecting we play both Grundy and Witts together and it works.

I expect to see Taylor jump up a few cogs.

I expect Travis the C to become a strong marker and kick long goals again.

I expect us to leave behind that awkward start.

I expect this board to apply the rule of Reijkavic to always apply here: it always comes back to being a discussion how it's all Buckleys fault.

He he yes, i thought that, on closer inspection you have corrected it to two 1 cent coins making 2 cents. But I get your point ;) I loved the correction because it confused me

Need to keep improving. Long way between now and the end of the year. Will sh** all over St Kilda and Melbourne but Essendon (not as bad as everyone thinks and will lift ANZAC Day) and West Coast are by no means guaranteed. 6 months a lot can change so just need to focus week to week and improve.

Expectations:

That's Gold and his posse to be purely positive ;)
Dave the Man to get through a whole game and NOT post even one time
Knightmare to come up with a blank about which junior to play next :D
JMac70 to celebrate a Collingwood win with only a cup of tea
Our Mods to ban every "visitor" on our boards who banter with us
MagpieBat to change his avatar to Bruce Wayne
TheGreatGrundy to write a post that is grammatically awful, incoherent and nonsensical o_O

Just some perspective on where we are at;

Obviously we get a bit older if you add Howe, Varcoe, Sidebottom, Toovey and maybe Goldsack to our 22. And of course Swan.

But apparently we are forbidden to use the youth, experience thing as any sort of excuse.
