Just some perspective on where we are at;

Obviously we get a bit older if you add Howe, Varcoe, Sidebottom, Toovey and maybe Goldsack to our 22. And of course Swan.
Like I've already said, we should add Tarks. Fix that right up :)

Varcoe, Howe and Sidebottom will make that Older. Toovey and Goldsack looking like they might not be Best 22. Swan is not looking good for him to comeback

Stay positive my friend.

Don't jump off the Goldsack bandwagon, he's a must for our 22. The doubters will see this upon his return. The guy does the intangibles so well, and it's those types (Blair, Sinclair ect) who make good sides better, not just the Treloars, Sidebottoms ect.

Swanny will be back, Swanny has never taken anything lying back. He'll come back and if fairytales are real, he'll go out on his own terms with a second Premiership medal. :thumbsu:

Goldsack needs to do the tangibles better.

I'm liking your post because I agree with the premise. I'm just not sure it applies to Goldsack. He is a perennial 22-26 player on the list. He should be playing twelve games a year and being selected for need (match-up) rather than ability if we want to take the next step. See 2010.

He's not that bad. He'd be doing a lot better than what the current back 6 have dished up. Especially with our inexperience at the moment, he'd be more than handy.

Fumbly, poorly skilled and questionable defensive capabilities, he'd just become part of the problem.

I think we should expect some disappointment from those calling for players without a senior game to their name to come into the line up!

Taking in to account Mattys table why on earth would we want to go younger? This is the third year of our list transformation. If we're going to track towards a premiership in the near future its a finals year and unless they are absolutely banging down the door (which they aren't at this stage), no debuts.

Also perhaps expect some tweaking to our stoppage structure (at least I hope so) because if we continue as is we're every chance to wind up bottom 6.

Trelaor and Aish keep getting Better with more Gametime

De Goey to take another Big Step

Moore just keep getting Better and Better and might even Pass Cloke as our Number 1 Forward

Adams getting more Ball

Howe to take mark of the year

Grundy to make the Number 1 Ruck his own

Thx for the table Matty, i think the really key thing with the younger guys, say the 10 under 50 gamers plus those not playing such as Broomhead, Sharenberg, Witts and recent draftees,is have they got the range and spread of talent to take us into the top 4 of the competition? Who is most likely to take the steps to A grade?
Re the stoppage structure, you would hope the addition Varcoe will give some sort of help and from what we have seen the captain is just going to have to spend more time there than behind the ball ( perhaps when he overcomes the rib issue ). The concern with this is that you would think alot of pre season planning had Pendles something like 70: 30 behind the ball and Swan 70: 30 forward. I'm sure we have plan B's for every outcome...
