Melbourne's youth is overrated. Have seen many people mentioning their youngsters at the same level/potential as the Dogs and GWS. Not even close.
Translation 'why do people rate Melbournes kids above ours when we keep beating them'

FWIW we are 18 months behind the Dogs in development anyway, so not in the same league as them.

Bontempelli's every few disposals are ridiculously overrated by the commentators. If Macrae were to do the same, he would never get the "what a clearance by Macrae the young star!" treatment. Pretty frustrating to listen to.

Boomer's games record won't stand as long as Tuck's has.

With advancements in medicine and conditioning, I think we're going to see more and more players racking up big games played numbers. Just look at how many 300 games players in the comp right now, I wouldn't be surprised if its the most playing at the same time, ever.
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006)

Lucius Washington: You're not gonna live forever.

Ricky Bobby: No one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and my high level income, it's not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300. Heck, I just read in the newspaper that they put a pig heart in some guy from Russia. Do you know what that means?

Lucius Washington: No, I don't know what that means. I guess longer life.

Ricky Bobby: No, he didn't live. It's just exciting that we're trying things like that.

The free agency compensation system is spot on and it very clearly promotes equalisation by giving shitter teams better compensation for losing good players than it would give compensation to good teams. People just like to hate on it because it seems like a trend to rip the AFL nowadays.

With all the build up and spectacle about Boomer breaking the record, I would piss myself laughing if he injured himself and wrote off his career, thus never breaking the record.
Well aware I'm a terrible person.

St Kilda 2009/10 was one of the best, if not best sides in history. It was an absolute machine built with starts from back to front. How they never won a flag is beyond me (if Lyon kept Ball and forgot about Lovett, they would have won 2010).
No.

Regularly had guys like Raph Clarke, Eddy, Jones, Baker, Gram, Schneider, Ray, Dawson, McQualter, Gwilt, Blake play.

That's not to say all those guys were spuds - Dawson a capable defender in grand final sides at 2 clubs, Baker a top tagger, Gram was capable of some great games (09 GF for one), but I'd hardly say these players were anything better than average overall talent wise. I mean, good taggers are pretty common - Baker & Jones aren't special. Decent players in the list above but doesn't make them greatest of all time and no more special than the 10-18th players on any grand final list.

Guys like Kosi & Maguire (left end of 2009 after missing the whole season, but was there 2007-08) were also limited, massively talented but we never saw them as more than second tier players. Nothing that makes them all time great.

Their rucks weren't anything special - again, Gardiner a guy capable of super performances but not consistent, King good but not his best at Saints. McEvoy a decent back up. But not 'greatest team of all time' area.

Stars: Riewoldt, Goddard, Hayes

Very good: Milne, Dempster, Fisher, Gilbert (massively underrated now based on his 2011-2014ish seasons), Montagna, Dal Santo

Some unpopular opinions are geniuses before their own time. Some are just nonsense. Sorry mate, this is the latter.
