I think Michael Voss has a good football brain and should get back into coaching. then maybe have another crack at a senior job down the track sometime
Went from shift worker to CEO, being thrown into the deep end so quickly wasn't good for his coaching. Should go back and do the hard yards and will find another senior position in 5 or so years.

His media work is quite good though.

If you let the play go it gets bogged down into stalemates and scrums. That is the natural course of things. Free flowing fast football comes from umpires blowing the whistle to reward tacklers, blowing the whistle to penalize holding and blowing the whistle very quickly to bounce or throw up
the ball when a pack forms.

The idea that there was ever an era of fast free flowing footy with low whistle use is just pure BS.

The current tendency for rolling mauls and congestion is the inevitable result of telling umpires to put the whistle away. And we will have to put up with it until they get the whistle going again.
Yep. Happened in 1997 when games were getting bogged down with packs and low-scoring (though not to the degree they are this year). About half way through the season Collo made the edict to blow the whistle more often and guess what? The play opened up! Remarkable!

I hate other teams!
I know a few of my mates have this same opinion, but consistently high supercoach scores do not mean someone is a good player

I think everyone knows that.
Although supercoach scores are a lot better to go off than AFL dream team, at least it takes into account efficiency.

I forgot to add the words 'Consistently high supercoach scores'....

If DT scores made players great, then surely Brad Symes would have been the greatest average player in the history of the game.

- there are too many "experts", journos in the media. I believe this has got to do with our small population, high number of players, retirees each year seeking post playing employment
- big players in AFL circles want to tinker with the game on a continuous level. this keeps the game in the news and fills the papers
- the blokey nature of broadcasting. only works with MMM, but for some reason ch 7 think its what the viewer wants.

Totally agree. I think he was pushed far too early. Perhaps Brissie thought they were going to land Roos and were just making room? Either way, the Voss for Leppitsch switch is at best a sideways step.

Voss made some incredibly poor recruiting decisions early on but I feel like he'd hit his stride and if given the opportunity to turn over the list, could have achieved something.

Tim Lane was the best TV commentator in the business.

Dwayne Russell is better than anyone Seven has to offer, second only to Huddo and Sandy.

And Ch 9 seem to think it's what the cricket viewer wants too.
