Frustrates the hell outta me that we so rarely rotate Sloane through half forward. Runs all day, great mark, strong tackler, and would help him shake a tag.

And this is the whole point of the thread I presume.

I think we all expected more games out of Jones, Gooch & Stengle, and SOME games out of the likes of Fog & Ned.

Instead we are clinging to average dads army types, as if they were Roo & Macca, in a year where we are struggling to make finals.

Because a tagger would likely move to our leading midfielder. Because Sloane as a half-forward would be on the move leading up to (and mostly in our case, away from) the ball. Because he’s a great contested mark and would regularly outmark a tagger or defensive scrubber.

He would just be tagged again as he gets involved in stoppages but I see your point.

This team would beat our current one by 5 goals. The team is still too slow with Sloane, MCrouch, Greenwood and Cey in it. It's imperative we replace 2 of these players with pace and a bit of class end of the year. The addition of Jones , McHenry, Gallucci, Hamill, Fogarty, Mcadam, Stengle helps with pace. Playing Smith in the midfield will help along with Doedee back next year who I wouldnt say is slow.

Doedee replaces Kelly when fit.

No Jacob's, Walker, Betts, Mackay, Douglas, Knight, Murphy, Atkins, Poholke, Gibbs, Otten, Hartigan, Wilson.
