Outside of 2020 and 2021 what do you think was the worst AFL finals series ever?

2017 was a bad one. Every match was a blowout with the only close final being at Adelaide Oval when West Coast won over Port Adelaide in an extra time thriller which was the one match decided by under a goal. The WCE vs GWS semi was the lowest-attended finals match ever too and both prelims were blowouts.

2017. Great for the winners, but boring for neutrals other than the Port Adelaide vs West Coast Elimination Final

2023 - the ultimate Bradbury premiership.

If Maynard hadn't taken out Brashaw with that cowardly act Collingwood would have lost first week, but they just fell over the line.

Without the weak act Collingwood's best case is playing Brisbane in Brisbane to make the GF, which they loose.

The entire finals series was tainted by a dog act and the AFL wanting Collingwood to win the GF, and they still just fell over the line.

2017 was terrible.

2003 was bad too, two decent finals in the first week, but the rest were really lopsided affairs, plus a fizzer grand final drubbing.

Looks like 2024 is added here. Geelong Bradbury'ing to another premiership with the Grand Final at the MCG.

Also Geelong, Sydney and Hawthorn back in it again isn't good for footy

Only if Port lose tomorrow. If they win, Geelong will have to win at least one away interstate final, which instantly disqualifies any "bradbury" claim.

Pretty impressive to judge how good a finals series is before it's even started.

Winning 16 on the trot is a Bradbury these days? What does that make Collingwood's 2023 where they rarely had to leave their safe space all year?

If Geelong make the grand final against Sydney (or Port/GWS - whoever finishes above them) and wins, it's another undeserved home ground victory

sure was, it had Geelong finishing in the top four three times then collapsing every time the finals came around, the spot should have gone to a team that actually knew how to compete

Nah the fact a team like Adelaide were able to make it through to a grand final says it all.
2020 will forever be amateur hour with the shortened quarters and 5 less weeks of footy played.

2003 always springs to mind, wall to wall blowouts and the most anti-climatic grand final ever, and as a music nerd seeing the Australia idol finalists as the half-time grand final entertainment was also a true low point.
