Why do people keep going on about dawson for? He only played 4 games for us after round 8 this year so i doubt he is looked at as our future full back anyway.He may be ok as a 2nd or 3rd tall but he is not a full back.
How is luke livingston going by the way? What pick did you use on him again? No 4 was it? At least dawson came off the rookie list.

I think Pelican assumed we were going to fold. We told him repeatedly that we were not going to trade Thornton. He just didn't listen for some reason. Perhaps he's recently watched video of Zac Dawson V A Rocca. Hard to know for sure what the reason was. He's probably still trying to get Thornton in the PSD. Could you do us all a favour and email him this article. Might save everyone some time.

As soon as Thornton realised that Essendon would have grabbed him at pick 2 in the PSD, he signed with Carlton.

No, he's a talented young defender which most clubs would target since they seldom become available and he'd be drafted between picks 11-14 if he was in this year's draft. They only become available when clubs like the Dockers and Pies make the mistake of letting them go or a club has too many tall defenders.

Craig Bolton is now an AA player and he couldn't even get a look in at the Lions.

He was picked up with pick three in the PSD.

Couldn't be happier, ya Goose. Well done Thornton. Your miserly, bankrupt, corrupt, wooden spoon outfit were too cheap to pay him a reasonable salary and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the cheque book.

So in the end one of two things happened.

1. Carlton was too bloody cheap and had to fork out some of their AFL handout to pay for Thornton

2. Carlton was right and he's a 150K (was it 150K a year?) hack and they're paying far too much.

So, which was it?? The administration were incompetent and undervalued him or they were incompetent and are overpaying him??

Dawson is quick and agile, trouble is he isn't strong enough yet, hence Rocca and Thompson gave him a thrashing and through him around like a rag doll.

So thornton had the weight and speed to go with rocca and thompson... hold on you do realise that with additional strength comes additional weight... weight is generally a factor which slows a player down... hmmm think about it...

He wasn't worth no 1 in that draft obviously judd is the better player. How come nobody ever bags the saints over not picking him?

At least hodge plays and has achieved some success in his career. Has been aa won a best and fairest and is generally considered one of the better players in the leauge. So we got the 2nd best player in that draft.

Lots of pressure on carlton to pick the right guy this year. You got the best one last year but lots of players are touted as good enough to be no 1 this year. Pick the wrong guy and you will be copping **** the same way we do.
