What we need next week

As long as we beat the Lions next week (that is not going to be easy either), we need Saints to lose to West Coast at the Dome on Friday night and then Collingwood to be beaten by the Swans on the Saturday night. That way we will have control of our destiny the following week.

If the Crows beat Brisbane, and the Saints lose to West Coast, then the Crows will have control of their destiny with regard to finals the following week (round 22) no matter what the result of Collingwood vs Sydney in round 21.

I've tipped those 3 results :thumbsu:

I never thought i'd say this but over the next 2 weeks i'm adopting the Eagles as a second team... we need them to beat the saints next weekend and the bombers the weekend after... of course this is all assuming our boys can get over the line against the lions and collingwood :s

Hawthorn, Kangaroos and Sydney are not necessarily out of the mix either. Altough unlikely, one of these 3 clubs could lose their next two games.

Hawthorn - Bulldogs (TD), Sydney (SCG)
Kangaroos - Carlton (TD), Bulldogs (TD)
Sydney - Collingwood (MCG), Hawthorn (SCG)

We are behind Hawks on %, but 2 wins to us, and 2 losses to them could see us sneak ahead as well.

That combination of results gets us to 7th.

All we need is one of those things to happen - i.e. St Kilda or Collingwood to lose next week.

I wish we never got ourselves into this situation. One more win in the year would have made it easier for us but we werent good enough. Also I dont know what to make of West Coast. They have players missing and even if these players make the team next week I still dont feel confident that they can beat St Kilda. Probably a 50/50 game but the Saints are desperate.

Looking at Brisbane for a moment: Aside from that belting of the Magpies, Brown has been the man getting them over the line for a number of weeks. The good thing is we have one of the few full backs who is able to contain him. Lets hope the Truck can pull out a good game next week.

Hopefully not holding on for a few seconds against Freo @ Subi earlier in the year wont come back to bite us. :( As we have a superior % to St Kilda who have of course drawn a game. Interesting how people at the time were saying a draw would mean nothing but not having to worry about our %.

One can only ask. :)

I thought the umpiring was pretty good against the bulldogs. Of course there were decisions that leave you scratching your head but all in all we had a much better run of it than earlier in the year.

Back to the topic, we need Truck to have a cracker against Brown. We need to kick straighter and Roo to play.

Also interesting it could be Meeson up against Woods on the weekend.
