key-position back
hudghton nearly gone and gilbert, sammy fish cant do it all
but if goose gets back to his best then we wont need another one.
maybe a mckinley type player we have raph, gwilt and c.gardiner but mckinley is better and younger
i reckon our midfield stocks are good
rucks are alright with mcevoy, kosi and king

Some outside pace and someone who can provide intense defensive pressure. Hopefully these can be rolled into one.

i believe if anything a key full forward... after all the best defence is attack
or if not a key full forward kozi worked on all summer and dropped if he's a no show we have plenty of people with in the club who are capable of providing a marking option

We've invested in Allen and McEvoy, and it now seems the club has worked out Gwilt can play forward. So with Roo and Schneider being youngish we look OK. Steven will be a good player and X will return. Kosi might still turn his career around (although I personally think we will never see four weeks in a row of good footy from him again).

With the backs, much depends on Goose. Seems we need to pick up someone like Silvagni and hope that Miles comes on (I think he will). Maybe we need another young one, but don't think we need to use a high pick to find someone.

Midfield (age next year):
Hayes 29
Monty 25
CJ 25
Gram 24 (going on 25)
Fiora 27 (going on 28)
Dal 25
Birss 26
Bally 24 (going on 25)
Bakes 28

Armo and Gears will get there, but neither are speedsters. Must inject the skill and legspeed, and I think the club are well aware of this and will target these players.

Ruckman: Don't need to chase, King's good for another year or two, Kosi can pinch hit, McEvoy's coming along and we should rookie Blake McGrath

KP Back: Biggest need. Maxy has only another year, maybe two if we're lucky and we don't know if Goose can come back. Big Fish has been brilliant but another would be handy

KP Forward: Only if he's quality. We've got too many mid-ranges in this area.

Pace: A quick outside midfielder would be handy, but not vital. Skills are more important than blistering speed in my book.

Inside midfielder: Not vital right now, maybe a rookie pick. Lenny and Bally should have a few years back, Armitage, Eddy and/or Geary can step in there too.

Small defensive forward: Not needed, at least not so much as another good key tall.

People seem to say otherwise but I thought Armo and Steven were pacey mids?

Anyone who's seen em play comment? Or do we have their 20m sprint thingos from draft camp available?

Miles is apparently a fast kent? Get him in the middle!

We need hard core worm burning pace running off half back to compliment our midfield. 2 wormburners to help out Gram out and link up with our midfield. Like King and Foley for richmond.

IMO we need another - "good" tall defender. Talls are hard to come by in trade later on, and Max won't be there forever. If we accidently ended up with too many defenders we have a few that would be able to convert to forwards. We don't have many forwards who could convert to defence. ( Gwilt, Milne, X, Raph, Schnieder, would not be good in defence Kosi is probably the only one who could do it ).

To not discuss this topic until after season 08 ends. If we're not celebrating on Sept 27th, then let the discussion continue :)
