Hi all,

I am trying to get better informed in general about the economic situation of both australia, and the world and i guess with specific topics such as the US financial crisis, property market etc etc.

I never really know where to go to read up about these things. I mostly just read the age online and the fin review at work.

Just wondering what people find as good sources of information.

Please list in this thread.

(maybe if we get a good collection of resources going this can become a sticky).

I'll start the list

In Australia I can't go past Michael West of the SMH. He is top notch and very well connected. The Australian press is also much poorer for the retirement of Robert Gottliebsen from the Australian. I think he may still publish the odd piece.

I watch CNBC and Bloomberg daily. I prefer the more magazine style of CNBC I have to admit. I buy The Economist most weeks. FT.com is also a must. Think AFR on steroids.

The Business Spectator's KGB Report is excellent for daily opinion.

Alan Kohler, Robert Gottliebsen and Stephen Bartholomeusz write broadly on the business news each day and it's delivered to your inbox each afternoon. I love it.

By the way, if anybody cites Terry McCrann as a credible source of business news, GTFO.

How is Australia's Sky business channel going? While back home last xmas I saw the introductory ads, and it looked, well aweful.

:thumbsu:+1 for that.

Gottliebsen's commentary on the US Bailout package and the trials and tribulations of the US Congress has been great.
