It was one game. Is it the end of the world for West Coast? They lost, Hawthorn/Geelong tomorrow. One will lose.

If we lose next week and then the showdown, you have a right to ask that tough question. But after one loss against a quality team, lets just wait and see.

But it's not or game. He still hasn't proven his offensive game is up to AFL standard.

Pressure, tackle, harass and apply defence yes but not kicking, marking or goal kicking - no he hasn't.

You could make a case that some of our players haven't proven their defensive game is up to afl standard either. If pets doesn't improve his offensive game this season I'm happy for them to make the call on him.

True but the nature of the beast in most sporting environments is about scoring more points than your opponent and offence wins games.

That's why everyone loves Michael Jordan and no one know who Craig Ehlo is.

Wtf Sylvia, why bother. We are 4-5 quality players away from being a legitimate contender. Not sure if they are currently on our list or not, but before we can even consider ourselves in the game we need AT LEAST:

-1 quality Kpp defender.
-1 quality small rebounding defender who is also actually capable of defending
-1 at least average 2nd kpp tall forward
-Back up ruckman or ruckman/forward
-1 x 1st tier midfielder and one solid 2nd tier midfielder
-1 goal kicking small forward who actually kicks goals as opposed to "applies great defensive pressure".
-Quality wingman

So you think our defence, ruck, midfield and forward line are not up to scratch. We won a lot of games last year with the same side sans one back man and one forward. I reckon our window is open, despite the game against Essendon. We could lose next week and I would still be convinced that we will be top 8 this year.

There's a big difference between being top 8 and a genuine premiership contender.
