Have Glenelg received their Wooden Spoon in the mail yet?

I'm with GrassRoots here, for a change. Buddha should've of kept his trap shut. On the other hand, do they want the Magpies and Crows to play the line and actually try, or do they just want to drag them down to Glenelg's level?

Thought I might help you with the tittle of the thread

http://www.barossaherald.com.au/story/2513877/adelaide-crows-chase-gawler-central-stars/

Its amazing how the clubs are letting everyone now whats going on but not teh SA footy public and 5 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it appears they want to weaken them(Different to how you said it but same sort of meaning I guess) U/23 only first rule to be half confiormed or at least quoted and printed by a player being picked up by the Crows, absolute joke as I said Im sure your home ground is in jepoerdy and the Magpie Logo. I really dont care for these as it doesnt help the situation or the league.

That's a bit unfair. Try playing the ball and not the man Heardy, I mean it's not like the Magpies achieved anything for over a decade prior to becoming an AFL reserves team.

Under what grounds do the SANFL team bosses believe they can make us remove the magpie name and logo?
I mean the SANFL doesnt even hold the licences anymore?
The sooner the magpies tell them to stick it the better. If only that meant we could stop keeping the sanfl alive to.

As I said before, without a Magpies presence in the League the SANFL will lose fans and support. They can't afford that risk, especially when other teams rely on the travelling Magpies fans to help them break even at the gate.

There is no Port Magpies anymore. If Some Port supporters choose to believe there is then that's up to them, however, SANFL supporters don't view them as the Magpies, they see them for what they are, a Power reserves. So it's already happened. If they were removed now the comp would continue on nicely.

Totally agree they will lose some fans, clubs will have to learn to live without that financial support. I think most fans would rather see there clubs reduce in size or even salary caps and enjoy the league rather than have it totally stuffed by having AFL teams in it. So dont think spruiking you will become insignificant means anything to SANFL fans. Dont you get it, we are fully aware the league will reduce and the $$ will reduce, we are here to enjoy a league that has every team running under the same rules, yes some teams will have a better P and L making there club effectively stronger but those weaker clubs havent been disadvantaged because certain clubs have been gifted a free kick, like the crows and port power, where being part of the AFL gives them that advantage. To bring teams in so they can make more $$$$ but change the integrity of the comp, WTF, who in their right mind would want that? The clubs did but I think are finally realising its not what the fans wanted!

RELAIZE PEOPLE ARENT WORRIED ABOUT KEEPING BUT WITH JONESES THEY JUST WANT TO ENJOY THEIR LOCAL LEAGUE AS A STAND ALONE COMP WITH SAME CONDITIONS FOR ALL, LIKE THE AMATUER LEAGUE< HILLS LEAGUE< SOUTHERN LEAGUE.

Without AFL club handouts you might find it may not continue on as nicely as you like. Your club might be one of the first to fold. Be careful what you wish for.

Might and it might not, I think 99% of SANFL fans are willing to take that risk. All we want is a comp that runs even for everyone . If we are concerned about bringing in teams into a competition purely to keep it funded then there is no point in having a competition, may aswell fold the entire comp.

Without hand outs the SANFL is dead in the water, how can you argue otherwise!?

Does that come from your Crystal ball or Tarrot cards, as I said happy to take the risk. If they fold from the $$ so be it, its better than the non compeition it is at present as it isnt a real competition, its some handicapped mish mash competition that they are trying all different ways to keep all parties happy!

we do alot more for the sanfl than your mob ever has, simple facts you fail to recognise. your 35 members must be proud. will be awesome when we no longer have to prop your mob up.

Had a bit of a read of your Port (SANFL) board re GF wrap Up.

Seems about 50% of your supporters or should I say campaigners couldnt give a toss about the SANFL and the so called magpies team. I call them campaigners spruiking of about tradition and Effing Never Tear us Apart and they couldnt give a Shit about the SANFL team, as its just a development team or the resrves team to make sure the AFL team succeeds (Sound Familiar BUDHA)

And you wonder us NO AFL IN SANFL say the shit we do. Please when will you admit you have but a few real magpie people left!!!!!!!

young blokes who dont appreciate the sanfl like the rest of us do. we still have more than most sanfl clubs fans supporting the sanfl side, especially your mob. it will grow over the years too.

Really it seems quite unusual that they think nothing of the so called Port Magpies. You obviously respect the tradition of the Port Magpies, but what are your real thoughts on those Power campaigners who couldn't give a shit about the Magpies and the SANFL comp?

there will always be people who follow the afl not the sanfl, it shits me that some dont care for the sanfl, but thats not just port people, thats alot of footy fans these days. its the way it is, the sanfl will survive and grow, especially with afl influence. i feel as people get used to the current port model more and more 'new' port fans will get on board and support the sanfl side. ive seen it grow through out the year.

you do realise in an sanfl grand final under the restrictions placed on the club yesterday port were not allowed to pick a ruckman, not allowed to pick the player who tagged jack oatey medallist panoz out of the game earlier in the year, not allowed to pick the solid bodied mature player who would play a shut down role on mcguinness or bode, instead we were forced to pick 9 players 20 years old or under, an irishman who has played about 12 games of footy in his life. 6 under 19s who are in their first year of senior football, really its a joke that we got so close to norwood they should have smashed us by 15 goals.
had port been allowed to pick bruggeman, beimans, slattery and young instead of flynn, russell byrne jones and maybe amon there would have been a different result. but we werent allowed to pick our best 21, integrity..........

Totally realise your situation, probably the same as SANFL supporters issue with having 19 afl players out of 21 against part timers with some ridiculous salary cap. The issue here is the competition is now run on handicaps will they make the AFL reserves teams too strong or too weak. It will be changed year in year out to ensure they don't upset one or the other. How can you possible run a competition this way. Based purely on handicaps, what if they get it wrong and the AFL reserves don't lose a game or the opposite and they don't win a game. We have a competition with 8 teams running under the same guidelines and they want to cloud the whole competition with this conflict. I wasn't a supporter of the distribution of AFL players but at least that was in place on a draft system to make it equal and fair for all.

Yes there will be the minority that could give a toss, but if you look at your position that is the majority. One example Port v Sturt , top of the table clash at Alberton. Crowd 2500 probably 500-1000 sturt supporters. Your true believers membership base is 50000 that would mean 90% of your members couldn't actually give a toss about such an important match. I realise you are probably one that went. But it irks so many people that the majority of Power supporters through it in peoples faces how loyal they are and their believe in the Port Adelaide tradition and the creed and the majority of your supporters couldn't give a toss and have never been to a magpies game in their lives. Face facts the juggernaut which is the AFL and the Power Franchise has swallowed up and eaten the Magpies to the plastic franchise it is today.

Its fair to say every club has members you don't want they will never change but its usually in the minority but in this case of true magpies supporters its in the majority that they don't exist.

I know a ton of Power supporter who quote the "creed" NTUA, "Alberton crowd" and "We are Port Adelaide" who've never stepped foot on Alberton oval or had a beer in the Alberton hotel before or after a game. Prolly never crossed Grand junction rd.
One thing i'll never understand, won't even try is acquaintances and old school mates of mine who are Norwood supporters barrack for the Power in the AFL?
Had some fwit band wagoner sitting behind me on sunday rabbiting on how he is a true blue Maggies man etc etc (barf) then goes on to say, "gee the telecast looks different, have the abc changed something". ruddy dumb campaigner.

you guys won the grand final, but all you can do is spread more obsessed, vitriolic anti-Port crap. If a few more Norwood supporters actually put Norwood FC at the top of their football ranking, instead of abandoning the redlegs in their thousands in 1991 to support the crows or whatever random Victorian club, Norwood may also have found itself in the AFL. From all reports there was a large Norwood contingent at the grand final, yet I don't remember average crowds at the Parade this year being 20,000+, so I suggest you doing your ironing a bit better
