You'd think he'd demand a largish salary and in the era of soft cap reductions I'm not sure that's a good idea.Buckley as an assistant coach appeals because it strikes a better balance. He can be a difficult and demanding bloke, but he has a canny football mind - assistant coaches don't need to do as much of the emotional management side of things which he has reportedly struggled with.
I’m not sold on him having a canny football mind.Buckley as an assistant coach appeals because it strikes a better balance. Ok ... Then Caroline Wilson as Backline coach and Head of Integrity. He can change everyone except Monkey.
No current season stats available
Why Buckley?
You need to have a spell.I am happy for to have a vigorous interview process to see witch coaches are best - warts and all
Very sharp football mind. But very similar personality to Mitchell. They are cut from the same cloth in terms of their approaches to football and professionalism, but I think Sam will also need guys around him who complement his strengths and his weaknesses (ie. an empathetic Fagan / Mark Williams type personality). I see people management as the greater challenge for Mitchell than tactical nous / professional standards. He comes across as very intelligent and is well spoken, I believe he would make for a quality assistant.
Why Buckley?
And could pull the boots on to help with our midfield issues! He comes across as very intelligent and is well spoken, I believe he would make for a quality assistant.
I spoke to him he likes how it is atm and he doesn't want anything further. If Andy Collins stepped away from Werribee as he wanted something more part time to fit in with teaching, not sure he'll be up for an AFL gig again.
good brain he hasI wonder what becomes of Andy Collins?
Bolton endorses this post!Is there anything wrong with our current assistant set-up?
Reckon we just need better players to execute; Step 1!
Young yoda was the goat, old yoda had some horrible decision making…
