Strategy What will Sam’s assistant coach team look like?

Well they are so inexperienced they surely would do it for minimum wage 😂
If that’s our prerogative then we can probs grab a bunch of experienced guys from the Sunday league that will do it for beer money.

What Mitchell will now desperately need is an experienced head, and someone with emotional intelligence (in the Fagan/Williams mould).

Of course with the Clarko payout clogging up the soft cap, we will be lucky to afford John Barker now. Going to be very difficult to properly resource the support cast for a rookie coach.

Haven’t they spread the Clarko payout over two years? What salary is Mitchell on? Surely nothing near Clarko (could be 500k or less). So could be limited net impact. Clarko took a lower salary in his early year so could get right team - Mitchell may need to do same if wants a long term coaching career.

Presume Mitchell would be paid more in 2022 than previously intended if now senior coach.

Ayres or bring Andy Collins with him from Box Hill

The Mitchell/ Collins combination is working very well at Box Hill
I don’t believe Andy wants to go full time, which is why he’s liking his current role.

why are people so set on just getting premiership players back?

Loved Rough as a player, but not sure he’s done much to be considered for a spot in such a limited footy dept.

I think when we look back at Clarkos downfall at Hawthorn it was because he had become the elder statesman at the club with no experienced head above him to sit him on his ass from time to time.

Having Andy Collins is brilliant. If he can't commit to more hours having someone like Ayres in the background as the wise old.head would be amazing.
