What would a Dutton Liberal leadership mean for the Liberals and the country?

Dutton on the Today Show this morning saying it was time for Labor to stop blaming the previous Government for the issues plaguing them now and just get on with the job.

Bit rich when he and his colleagues had been blaming things on Labor for years.

He is everything that is bad about politics. Venal, corrupt, a liar, a hypocrite, a bully, completely lacking in emotional intelligence & compassion.
A moral black hole with no interest in anything beyond power and money.

So Morrison but more intense and harder to mask it. Morrison had the old lay preacher chat vibe going on

Yep - seem to be just a bunch of childish, dopey weaklings. All of em. Hard to fathom how they got his poor.

If green and labor got strategic, labor should move more center right and allow the greens to move less left and more like a party capable of government

Then the Nats could absorb liberal altogether where the Murdoch family figure in that is clearly a factor

Reported this week was bob browns wet dream of holding the green line and slowly taking all labor’s vote over the generations. What an ass hat that would still put him in opposition forever.

More immediately, how long do the libs think they can sleepwalk wit Dutton and watch the irrelevance grow?

2 million people already vote for the Greens and party membership is skyrocketing
If anything, we will move further to the left and increase our vote still more

The real story about the Greens and the Teals is the community engagement they can create.

The LNP and to a slightly lessor extent Labor actually put up barriers to community participation.

Community participation and engagement is actually the one thing the Tea Party excelled at and Trump slurped all that up and carried it on to a whole new level.

Right now it is like the LNP are looking at WA and asking themselves how can they get there 🤷‍♂️

But in demographics, that strategy is as limited as the nationals. Dominating limited markets

In dans landslide last election, I saw one booth was still 80% national. Where does that get them?

Labor’s vote is working class and migrants, the ssm ‘vote’ showed that there’s strong conservatism

My thought is greens = progressive left. Labor = conservative left. Bob brown is an idiot

..and the teals will Hoover up those who don’t want to go further left

You do realise the next expansion for the greens would be former liberal voters in leafy suburbs? On kooyong more green voters switched thus than labor or liberal. Tactical voting sure…but.

I gotta say given we are in the middle of a cost of living crisis and it is accepted by all that wage growth is non existent, union bashing is an interesting strategy.

The Liberals really are completely bereft of any original ideas at all.

They literally just throw s**t from the sides while they wait for Labor to inevitably implode (with a little encouragement and prodding from uncle Rup)

Agree - they should keep a low profile for at least 12 months and just get out of the way and try to figure out who or what they are
and how they can have any relevance going forward.

Funnily enough, this much lauded (lorded?) prayer says absolutely f-all about helping the vulnerable or, indeed, about helping anybody else at all.
This might say something about the hypocrisy which drives so-called christians.
The only thing in it which comes close is “forgiving those who sin against us”
