Whateley's wrap

Face it - you picked a side like most people did, and became irrational, illogical and petty in your stance once you'd made it.

No different to most.
I will admit I have foamer leanings but am more wanting dank done.

I agree with all of this.

I'm quite disgusted that McDevitt comes out with lines about player welfare and pin cushions and all that sort of shit when it's the players that he's prosecuting, not the club.

If you want to go the club, go the ******* club. Don't lose a case that you dragged out for a year and a half longer than it needed to be and then say that you care about player welfare.

******.

Was it not the Club that asked to be investigated, was it not the Club who took ASADA to court .It's funny how sook about ASADA talking about the club but had no issues of the club interfering with ASADA going after the players.

That's a bit hypocritical

They can talk about the club all they want mate but pretending they're even vaguely interested in the players' welfare, after what they've done, is a joke.

I don't think there is provision in the asada code to go the club without having players infracted.

I was astonished to read in this article from The Age that it appears the batch was tested;

" evidence was presented and dissected about the molecular weight of the Alavi batch. ASADA had gained evidence from the Bio21 Institute at Melbourne University, which had measured the molecular weight of the relevant batch via a mass spectrometer. Two of Alavi's staff had delivered the batch to Bio21, before it was sent to Dank.

Bio21, too, wouldn't testify, but ASADA gained the results. ASADA sought expert evidence from Handelsman, who said the finding matched the parameters of the molecular weight of TB-4 - it was in the vicinity - and he added that it could not be the legal thymosin alpha or thymomodulin."

The chances of another legal substance being this close in molecular weight to TB4 would be very high. If it wasn't TB4 it would be prohibited under S0 as an experimental unknown substance.

For some reason the tribunal seems to have given this evidence no weighting at all ?
The charges mean it had to be TB4 to find players guilty. It could have been clembuterol (for argument sake, different molecular sizes) but the players would still have walked on the tb4 charge.

Of course in that case they would have been SCN served for clembuterol.

I may be biased here.

I think McDevitt was expecting players to accept the deal.

I think he knew there was a flaw in the case. IMO he knew it would struggle at the tribunal so the media roadshow was used to pressure the players to accepting.
They called the bluff, from their I think they were stuck, how does he explain dropping charges when the players did not even answer the SCN?

I'm far from saying he had no evidence, he did of that I am sure but I do think he knew there was a flaw in the case. That the tribunal would struggle to overcome it.

I think he was likely stuck too when Young and Downes likely said there was a possible case (we don't know the strength of their advice - much the same as you rightly point out we don't know what the full ASADA verdict says, a few tadbits can paint a picture to suit)

I think if ASADA dropped the charges before the tribunal without an answer to the SCN, lawyers would probably have a look at what happened.

Crameri's lawyer was tempted for Crameri to accept the deal the AFL was offering and was worried about the strength of the evidence according to reports. It was his mum who talked him out of it.I don't think the case is anywhere near as weak as being portrayed.

It came up short which happens and the people who think it was a disgraceful witch hunt have rocks in their head

You're a great poster Donsrule - sensible and polite (and I agree with most of your post btw).

I want the man who termed foamers, hirdites and then subsequently hirdashians given a medal.
I thought it was foamer, kool aider and then the James hird above all camp were hirdashians.
Then there's a sea kayaker, the man of independent means (GG/ gigantor). Oh and the philclogged shitfight the last week.

Still ongoing, although he won't talk to me, i am still waiting for all his facts

Yes, us Essendon supporters should just stroll off after the immeasurable levels of horseshit spewed on here for two years.

This place is now hilarious, that's why people are still here.
Agreed, but obviously for a completely different reason.

Have you bothered to ask yourself just what the players were injected with since the verdict, Bunk?

Or perhaps you're A-ok with Gil's "there are some questions we'll never have answers to"?

Don't WADA sort of have to appeal this verdict ? Otherwise, this tribunal has just delivered THE template for running a PED program. Throw away all your documentation, ensure that just one link in your supply chain keeps quiet, and the circumstantial bar has been set so high (save seizing the syringe from the athlete's backside) no case will ever succeed.

In this case I thought that ASADA may not quite have reached the bar to get a guilty verdict, I was awaiting (and assumed) a 'smoking gun'. But going by Whateley's distillation, even a smoking gun wouldn't have sufficed. All that is required is to throw some evidentiary shade on a a single link in the supply chain. Fine in a murder trial, but when the object of the statute is the integrity of a sport, I thought that it had been agreed it was in the public interest that a lower standard applied.

Obviously not, so start googling those websites boys, it's open season.
No it only applies to afl. Other sporting codes have different tribunals and are not guaranteed to use the afl result as precedent.

McDevitt took the deals off the table. That's when things got a bit frosty between the AFL and ASADA.

Yeah who cares though? They are not guilty. WHo cares about the rest, its history right?

Robbo's theory involves getting complimentary stash of AOD.

see how much weight he has dropped in the last 24 months? have his drinking habits changed? has he taken up the triathlon midlife crisis trope. does mensgallery have new techniques for metabolism stimuli?

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck: it's a duck!

Another one of my favourite HTB catch-phrases. Let's put it into practice real quick.

Let's look at the term "not guilty"

Now, it looks to me like it says not guilty. The players are free to play which also suggest they are not guilty.

LOOKS LIKE NOT GUILTY

To me it looks like 4 year bans and Essendon to the WAFL and Hird imprisoned once WADA comes over the top
