Luke Toia's missus was teaching my daughter at primary school in Bunbury a couple of years ago. Left to have a baby.
He was down here as well, coaching South Bunbury from memory.
Not sure if they still reside in this neck of the woods anymore.

Brendon Fewster went back up to Gingin, where he runs a bee farm and plays for the local team, at least he was a couple of years ago.

I used to work with Luke Toia in Bunbury (Dale Alcock) and caught up with him at Young & Jacksons before the GF. Really good bloke with a great sense of humour and loves a beer. He rocked up with Stephen O'Reilly who looks like he could maul Buddy Franklin still.

In relation to rookies who never played seniors, Hamish Shepheard played for Sandringham in the VFL.
Here's your Clayton Hinkley sighting -- in Tullamarine Airport with me, day after Grand Final, before boarding an Air New Zealand flight to Auckland; then he and his mates flew to LA on the same Air New Zealand flight I was on! He told me he's working a 9-to-5, but might play in VFL or country Victorian footy next season.

Agreed on Stephen O'Reilly but Luke Toia has certainly been in a good paddock since his playing days! He'd be up there in the 'most disappointing player' stakes.....I remember in one of his first games he destroyed Carlton, that game where we broke their 20-odd game winning streak. He was talked of as the next superstar of the game. He carved out a reasonable career, but never hit the heights he was capable of.

Yeah. His dad, Joe, and I have met a few times from my days working in the Commercial team on a mine site in WA. Joe owns IPP (Industrial Protective Products) and Jamie is one of the key leaders in his company. Joe's still very proud of Jamie playing in the inaugral Fremantle game.
