Hawthorn

Melbourne Hawks, NY Rangers
I watched a bit of 90s football on YouTube the other day. Its widely renowned as the best era, that brief sweet spot in AFL history where professionalism was high enough to make the game watchable, before ruining it. Most commentators who played reruns during the Covid shutdown last year lamented the greatness of this era.

One of the things I noticed was there were a few exciting half forwards around who could mark the ball and kick a bag on their day. Paul Hudson, James Hird, Garry Lyon, Brett Heady, Aaron Hamill, Chris Grant, Brett Montgomery,, and so on.

What happened to that?

Fortunately at Richmond we still have one, in Josh 'the difference' Caddy, although he gets limited game time.

We still have marking smaller players but I guess now they play in defense. Sicily, Howe, Crozier etc.

My advice to the OP is to get a female avatar with a bit of cleavage and stuff ( something to match yoru day wear) and pretend to be a girly girl barraking for whatever team you think is going backwards ( eg Hawforn) and make up stories about sexy players if yoiu want to be more sucessful at getting attention.

Stewart Lowe was a perfect example but like most Saints players (apart from Plugger) he couldn’t kick for shit.

I'm sorry Carlton doesn't have any decent forwards

Their best ever didn’t even manage a ton yet still tried to sell his sympathy Coleman for betting slips.

what happened? hmmm... I think time happened. 20 years or so. Things change. The centre does not hold. Chaos reigns.

It is only chaos because people forget and therefore are doomed to repeat the same mistakes - forever.

No its chaos because its the constant propulsion and nature of evolution
Good lord, another with no scientific background spouting inane inexactitudes.

well constant propulsion may be a given of course, but the engine is being driven by the forgetfull brain - which is unlikley to evolve much and still be limited even if it does - since death makes sure of forgetfulness by design..hence cyclical.

No it’s chaos because Dimwick cannot develop any kind of decent gameplan.
Give me Ross Lyon or Paul Roos footy any day over that ugly scrapfest the tiggers serve up. 🤮

How’s that for scientific?
