People have forgotten just what an upset 1958 was. Melbourne finished that year 3 games on top, and absolutely belted Collingwood in their first final.

It's right up there with 1998 and 2008 as the biggest Grand Final upsets in the VFL/AFL.

Collingwood have in a way always been building for flags since day dot.
On the day anything can happen as we know.
But Pies since day dot have always been in the business of striving towards a flag.

Nick Daicos and talented young kids will be the key items on the menu.
2025 a case of old players turning back the clock to 2023 and giving kids just drafted a taste.
2026-2027 will be lean tho.
Like to see Darcy Moore captain next year as well.
2027 we see Nick as captain.
2027-2028 surely be the baby Pies.
To be honest i prefer baby pies then older types.

Collingwood peaked a hundred years ago. Similar to Fitzroy really.

Reliable Grand Final participants though. From memory, the 40s is the only completed decade they didn't make one. And then every other completed decade apart from the 90s has multiple years of Grand Finals. Pretty impressive longevity. Thank **** for the Wobbles, preventing them from completely running away with it
