I was pretty keen on seeing him traded a month ago. After taking the pay cut he has shown that he wants to stay and shows a bit of character. He was being overpaid but the inept management (Danny) overvalued him and he had a contract - he was well in his rights to honour the contract.
Definately staying now and I'm starting to think it's a good move. His confidence was at an all time low this year and I reckon Wallace can turn him around. We're going to have a young backline and we need an experienced rock there to hold it together.

He's done the right thing by the club, we now need to do the right thing by him and support him, don't forget how good he can be when he's on his game. He really needs a solid preseason I think and some renewed confidence in him from the coach, last year he was on and off the ground all the time, moved around to different positions, that can't have helped his confidence at all.

Not sure if we need to do the right thing by him Jezza, we have been doing the right thing by him for years by throwing wheelbarrows full of money at him. Sure he's taken a pay cut, but he owes us still. I'm just saying for him to be able to repay us on the field, we need to show some faith in him, and I'm sure that's what TW will be saying to him. First priority is to get his confidence back up, that won't happen if we go around saying things like 'you owe us'.

We need some experience in the key defencive positions because we cant put the kids in there yet, and remember how good gasper was and i think he will get back to that level with a full pre-season and regains confidence

Relax Hammerfire, just a bit of light-hearted banter between rival supporters. No trolling intended. If you want to get really angry and personal at someone, you should direct it to the current and previous Richmond administration, who have continued to over-pay players at Tigerland for the best part of 6 years, causing understandable player disharmony and lack of on-field performance. The coin offered to the likes of Richo, Campbell, Holland (before he left), Daffy, et al, was the work of a reckless administration.
