I rekkon Terry barred him from the caffiene tabs before the game, but when he saw him play....,by half time he'd changed his mind and was force feeding them to him.lol

visited the G today and for those who didnt have visuals it was quite obvious from the start how collingscum were going to play the game. They simply played shut down footy ala final 5 minutes stuff right from the outset.
Thankfully it was like watching a mirror image of any game we played last year except we were the team wanting to score points while the other tried desperately to shut us down.
You knew at some point they had to buckle because:
1. Flooding that much is very very taxing and to maintain that knida flood for 4 quarters is nigh imposible.
2. They never looked like blowing us outta the park and we were never really out of the contest, always in the hunt and safely poised to strike.
3 and most importantly. At 3quarter time i seemed to have total faith in TW to make the right moves. I dont know what it was - as having faith in our coach is something very foreign to me - but thats exactly what i had, FAITH. The man has patience and is a wily as they come.
the pies tried man on man, tight n close defensive footy and if they manage to kick a few in the process well thats even better. Trouble is - as we all know very well - you WILL lose more games than win if you choose to walk that path fortunately thats not our direction anymore and boys ... im over the moon about that

Collingwood played defensive footy all day long. It was only a matter of time before we broke the game open and put them away.
Cogs was terrific, Simmonds again in a long stint in the guts dominated the hit outs and Browny's last qtr was unbelievable. He is a freak ala Gary Ablett!!!
I thought our backline was magnificent all day and continually pumped the ball forward. While Collingwood did flood most of the day, i thought the use of the footy by our boys in the first 3 qtrs was pretty poor. We were a little stiff in the 3rd and most of our efforts went unrewarded.
All in all, it was a good win.

I totally agree. It took 3 QTR's for his changes to take effect, full credit to the coaching staff. I don't know about you guys, but when we are down, I am relieved to know that we actually have a coach who will assess the current circumstances and alter it to our advantage, where as Frawley would 'stick like fat' with his game plan.blxx said:

It was really intersting to read this thread start to finish. At the ground it was different feeling all together for me. I could kinda sense we were always gonna win. You knew that the Pies were hanging on playing the good old Frawley, lets not lose by too much strategy. It was a question of when not if really. Must admit early in the last I was starting to consider thwe worst but only momentarily.
Either way just shows the value of actually being there....wish I could be every game!
