Whats happened to our BigFooty clock

The reason I think that it wasn't updated for Daylight Saving is that the 'clock' is based on the message board, and the messageboard originates in QLD where there isn't DLS.

Now as for this other 'hour' that has happened, what I thought of as an out there thing, seems to be true. Somehow - imbedded in software around the world, is American DLS. Who went back an hour recently. Therefore the clock on the software goes back an hour too! As strange as it sounds - it seems to be true - it is either in the software somewhere, or somehow everything on the net must go thru america. Maybe it is cause we have the '.com' instead of .com.au in the site addy of this board.

Yeah QLD is an hour behind (and about 50 years).

Ah life behind the Banana Curtain

But Sabre - where would that leave you? WA is 2 hours behind at the best of times - does that make you twice as far behind QLD at the best of times?

Not taking it seriously at all. I for one would love us to have DLS - I liked it when we had it a few years ago.

but hey - as funny as it may be - it would bring WA into as well.

I for one could easily come up with stuff to support the idea that we were 50 years behind taken in that context - like that is the reason why so many Vics retire up here - it reminds them of the good old days etc etc

But hey - what is scary is that some ppl will believe it!

Lord knows why on earth Perth doesn't have daylight saving - I cant see any reason why it shouldn't be reintroduced - it's better for business in the eastern states for one!

The only reason it got scrapped was old grannies were complaining daylight saving faded their curtains . . . sad!

That is why we don't have it in Perth, because people said it would fade their curtains, hello people, we are not turning on the sun for an extra hour, just changing the clock. We will have the same amount of daylight no matter what. God some people are so dumb.

I didn't like it actually (and I'm no farmer!) I just couldn't (and still can't) see the point.

Anyway, to each his own.

It just occurred to me, that's one phrase you say but don't write....

Another major reason is the fact we take up so much of the state. Victoria and NSW have it as they are down south so less daylight but Queensland, being closer to the equator so having more daylight, don't need it as they would effectively lose an hour. Since W.A. has the North we don't have it. I live as far down as you can go in W.A., Albany, and don't think we need it. We get sunlight from 5.30am to 8.30pm in the summer, changing the time wouldn't really do much.

What a load of rot. Being down south doesn't mean you get less daylight. Queensland has no such thing as twilight. It gets darker in Queensland quicker than it does in Victoria and lot quicker than it does in Tassie. In fact Tassie has more hours of daylight than Queensland has. Queensland hasn't changed to daylight saving simply because Queenslanders lack an understanding of it. The last time I was up there a couple of people actually argued with me that there would be 25 hours in the day. I kid you not! They were serious!
