Whats Judge's status now?

I personally think he should be kept till the end of the year, however, i cant see that happening after today

End of the year he most likely will be sacked

Do we really want to endure another season with him at the helm? I say sack him as soon as the season ends.

Freo apparently would take him on as their coach if we were to sack him, so thats another positive. It'll make beating freo in the derbies that much easier:D

We have two games left so sacking him now instead of in two weeks time is pointless.
Most of us see Woosha as coach in the future.
I think the position may be that Freo has offerred the job to Woosha and Woosha has said that he will take the Freo job unless the Eagles job is made available to him.

If so then the question is whether to sach Judge and get Woosha or keep judge and have Woosha coach Freo.

Waiting another year and getting Woosha then just isn't an option.

Is Woosha that sought after by the Dockers??

I thought they wanted an experienced coach, and were willing to fork out the big bucks for one

Back to the Eagles, i personally would hate to see our club getting rid of Judge.... not because he's a top coach but because we should honor the contract that we've given him

I say sack the bugger. He is being paid to coach us, not to get a free ticket to the game;)

On the dockers, they have all but given up on signing an ecperienced senior coach. From what i've read the candidates are:
Harvey(essendon)
Wiley(west coast)
Connolly(hawks)
Malaxos(sydney)
Woosha(carlton)

and if KJ gets sacked then him aswell. Basically read this http://www.afl.com.au/news/story_245318.htm

I think he shall be shown the door. Under KJ, I think we are going backwards. I know we should honour our contracts, but after all, it is a business and the WCE do not look like a viable prospect at the moment for sponsorship, but then again, down the road where the purple frockers are, they are worse off than us....

I always believed that Wossher was the heart and the soul of the club, I think that is what WCE need....a bit of heart and soul.....

I don't agree that contactual periods are things that should be honoured. In general the contract has a term which is negotiated purely for security of income. If the Eagles pay Judge his full three year salary then the contract is fulfilled. There will be escape clauses for both sides in the contract. In a similar way Woosha would have to use an escape clause to leave Carlton and the same would happen if Wirra (with another 2 years contract to run) was traded.

Just to support what Frodo's said I suppose as I was thinking exactly the same thing: as long as it's paid out the contract is fulfilled. In all commercial situations where things don't work out - for whatever reason - the parties have to come to a reasonable settlement. Paying out the contract in full would invariably be looked upon by a Court or an arbitrator as fair and reasonable.

Should the unthinkable happen & you win this week  , everyone will be singing his praises & he will live to fight another day.:D

On the contrary, he would be considered an idiot by many for sacrificing the extra draft pick.
Last week we got to within 28 points and Judge took Gardy out of the ruck and benched Wooden, who had been our best player. If we play well, and I hope we do, and get close to the 'Scum' then I am sure he will rest players in the fourth quarter and concede a defeat.

Having said that, The 'Scum' are a far better side than anyone else in the league and will surely hammer our youngsters and 'tired old champions' ;)

I don't think Judge will be throwing any games, he knows that every defeat brings him closer to a sacking and every win only delays the inevitable.

I don't think he really gives a flying duck about what happens now, he knows he will be sacked, and even if he does keep his job till next season he knows his contract will not be extended.

If he gets sacked then he will have trouble finding another AFL coaching job with his record, so i doubt he will be sweating too much on what happens now, especially since his contract will be paid out in full anyway.
