The reason I picked the kit from the 70s (which is essentially the same thing we wore until the mid 90s) is because we haven't really gotten it right in the printed jumpers era. The stripes are almost always too thin with way too much white space on the sides. It's not impossible to do it better, Collingwood's efforts in the last couple of years have been pretty close to what I think North should do. The new Puma strip is a huge improvement over what came before and I think it might already be my favourite strip since 2000.
The early 2000's one was pretty close to perfect like the 70s off the top of my head

has the same problem with the huge white space on the sides that our printed jumpers have always had. It's because of the way bigger sizes are done, they don't widen the stripes they just print the same pattern on a bigger piece of fabric

That was always my least favourite Port strip among the originals. I personally thought the Ansett Cup one, with the lightning bolt down the middle, was the best actual footy jumper. Until the chevron came along anyway. My Port pick would be early chevron with the full black back. I know the number panel is supposed to be a pear thing but all black with white numbers just looked so much more badass.

This would be my Port pick. All black, slick as. Back sponsor matches the colour scheme. Perfect.

Yep that Port guernsey looks clean as when watching highlights from back then. Nice template too.

Also when watching highlights from then I really appreciate how vibrant our 2014 Puma jumper was. The round collar also looked much better there than with BLK and O'Neills this year.

Yeah the Puma colours were ace, second only to Adidas imo. Loved the sponsors from that era too how they got rid of the white and made the text red.

The side panel is a dealbreaker though. White outline on the numbers not ideal either.

I reckon it's been surpassed by 2022's. Maybe only the cuff and number collar feel wrong, but otherwise the colour and width of the stripes is perfect.

Geelong 2007, the Slazenger stuff was comfortable to wear but the main reasons were for the classic GFC badge under the Ford sponsor, and this was one of the years not long after the Ford logo was a different shade of blue so it stood out.
Ford logo was lightened in 2004
The Slazenger marking was blue on white in 06 and 07 (from memory)
In 04 and 05, was white writing on a blue background - the bottom of the collar was a big chunky thing

Worst jumpers were early ISC. Looked like aprons. Crap design
I still wear my 2004 jumper. Good, solid look

I still have a long sleeve 2004 Geelong jumper with the chunky bit at the bottom of the collar.

The best Souths jumper was in 2006,
2005 was the best with the retro Opera House and Nike's 2021/22 is the best of the more realistic silhouette (used first in 2010 by ISC).
2021/22, might be the best of the lot, just on the placement of the Opera House square on the chest ❤️

It still looks like swan feathers to me (which would be awesome if true)

I would be keen to hear what Hawks supporters think on this actually.
The early 2000s, the yellow was a s**t color, so I think that is automatically disqualified.
Then eventually the 70s white square was re-introduced which was pretty solid particularly around say 2012.

Then Adidas (my guys) came along, and I think their 13/14 template was probably their best we've had. Kept it simple with the full stripes. Funnily enough, the second best it's looked with Adidas has been this year, thanks to the 'Tasmanian' logo blending into the Guernsey much better.

I love the white box so the 2008 version takes the cake for me
