Mud last night.

Was ok, had slightly higher hopes. I read a few people mention it reminded them of Stand by Me coming of age type film. I wonder if they get that vibe because the first scene we see Neckbone in, he looks a hell of a lot like River Phoneix in Stand by Me.
Thought Mud was great. One of the best films I'd seen this year.

Thanx for putting me onto blackfish, hadnt heard of it. Very good doco and makes u angry.

Just saw Blackfish and that was absolutely incredible. I hate people so much. I know the trainers aren't at fault at all and once they'd been given the job they realised just how distressing it is for the orcas but the owners of Seaworld are vile human beings.

I dispensed my atrophy and still came out feeling dejected and abhorrent./

Had trouble finding a decent illegal torrent download of this but it looks great. and one I want to see, but you shouldnt be resting your vile human observations on seaworld staff alone... There is 6 billion of us afterall, and by nature we are all that, and worse.

I'm with you. It's a more low-key type film than most you see these days, but quietly intense and very engaging. The kid is great in it as is Matthew McConaughey, who's built himself up a pretty good resume of late. Likely Best Actor nominee for Dallas Buyer's Club this year too.

Terrible, terrible movie. Some ok fight scenes that probably need to be seen in 3D, but absolutely no substance or depth in the storyline. Worst of the 5 so far. 3/10

Yeah I know. I'm all for finding injured Orca's and rehabilitating them and then re-releasing them into the wild but some of these are kept for 20 or more years. They are incredibly intelligent and emotional creatures that deserve more respect and proper treatment. When the owners continuously say that any death or injury is the result of a trainer's mistake and not the Orca being distressed from losing a young one or just being in a fishbowl, that's when it gets really frustrating.

The Butler - 4/5 - Pretty good film. Some great cameos and thought some of the presidents were spot on. I have a hard time liking Forest Whitaker though but he was solid in it.

Thor 2: 4/5 - Another film I enjoyed. Some great humour and action and the nods to the events of Avengers etc. is always a fun little thing. Natalie Portman is so gorgeous.

Prisoners - 4/5 - One of those tense films where you can understand the characters decisions because it all makes sense. Jake Gyllenhaal was very good and Hugh Jackman was very convincing.

Captain Phillips - 4/5 - Another great film. Tom Hanks will probably get nominated for an Oscar for his performance.

2 Guns - 3.5/5 - Really enjoyed this even if the story was run of the mill. Denzel and Walhberg's chemistry and banter really made this film.

Probably seems like I'm a really easy marker but if I like the story and the acting is good, it's always gonna be rated highly.

The Butler - 4/10 - Yeah, yeah, I get it - Americans were once racist shits. Move on.

Wolverine - 3/10 - I find this character too intense to be the sole focus of the film. Plot was predictable. This film really need some light to give relief from all that shade.

Captain Phillip's - 5/10 - OK, but I don't think it lives up to the hype.

2 Guns - 4/10 - The banter was fun but that was about all.

Margaret Pomeranz?
I guess I always have looked like a pixie.

Just saw Fruitvale Station. Wow that was an incredible film. Slow for most of the film but hits you right near the end. It's based on a true story too that is pretty devastating.

Man of Steel.

110 minutes I'll never get back. Movie actually goes 143 minutes but I just couldn't do it .
I'd rather sticks red hot pokers in my eyes than sit through that again.

For some reason they tend to make better Marvel character movies IMHO.

Just saw Zombies versus Cockneys.

Brilliant as, better than Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead.

Ending song is catchy as as well.

Recommend for anyone looking for a fun film.

About time: - not a run of the mill rom-com, not something most blokes would see on their own, so perfect movie if you're looking for a movie as a date.
Take some tissues for yourself though, not just her :(

V/H/S which i thought was entertaining enough for what it was and had one of the creepiest scenes i've seen in a long time (although i havent watched many recent horror movies)
in the first video after the guy with the glasses falls down the stairs and he turns around and the blurry image comes in to focus on the vampire chick

and for about the 100th time, MIAMI CONNECTION!!! this is an 80s movie about a bunch of martial arts expert band members who take on a bunch of motorbike riding ninja drug dealers and their partners in crime. if that doesnt sell you on this work of art, then consider that this film contains the line "they dont make buns like that down at the bakery". as i'm sure youve now already assumed, it is the greatest thing ever.

Saw Captain Phillips tonight at the cinema. Thought it was rather good. Tense and exciting without the usual hollywood hoopla and triumphalism. No love interest as well, which is a nice change.

The Counsellor.

Great script, directing etc, but a disappointing end.

Penelope Cruz is smoking hot. So is Cameron Diaz. That car scene. Wowee.

Michael Fassbender would do alright with the ladies too.
