The judge - some great performances from Duvall and Downey jr but it does drag for a little bit. It kept me interested for the majority though.

3/5

I think my expectations were huge after all the hype over the years. I still thought it was good but not amazing.
I know everyone will disagree with me...sorry!
It's a movie that unfolds - there's a certain subtlety in the way the story is told and it works on many layers.

It and Godfather 2 are brilliant.

Saw a couple of Korean films recently
Silenced (2011) - Film regarding the child abuse of deaf students in a Korean boarding school. An important film because it provoked outrage to reopen the cases. The film itself had some unnecessarily graphic scenes but was excellent in portraying the toxicity of Korean society. 7/10

The Yellow Sea (2010) - Superb action triller. If you like films like Taken and Oldboy you should love this. Of course the bloodshed might be a little over the top and some of the scenes are not exactly the most plausible but it is a ridiculously entertaining movie with great performances from the leads. A drawback for me was that it was not easy to follow. The plot is dense. 8/10

How To Train Your Dragon 2 - Maybe slightly behind the first one but still really awesome. Fantastic animation and a good storyline. 8/10
HTTYD was a surprise hit for me. Look forward to #2

Edge of Tomorrow was pretty hnnng. Feels good to watch a sci-fi, action movie with little to no plot holes and no real slow parts. 8.5/10.

Yeah a couple of my friends said the same thing, terrible.

Disappointing cos (and I'm showing my age here) but I used to be obsessed with its video game at the arcade back in the day, til I clocked it!

TMNT - was utterly woeful. The original movie was a thousand times better.

The equalizer - didn't know what to expect but I had my main man Denzel and he absolutely nailed it as always. Violent film with some interesting ways to kill people. This is a great popcorn flick for me. 3.5/5

TMNT... What do you people actually expect from anything with Michael Bay's name to it?

You should be going in with the expectation of a stinking, pyrotechnic ridden, pile of shit with more plot holes than a crumpet and I guarantee you'll still be disappointed.

The man is the king of ruining childhood memories, and everything that is wrong with Hollywood these days.
